Something that occured to me the other day.

1. FRIDAY

- the week is over, you have two days to recover if you go on a binge. The time period between dinner (4 PM-ish) and "party" (7-ish) is the best time of the whole week. Expectations build, you gear up, clean the apartment, take a shower, pop that first bottle of beer etc. etc.

2. SATURDAY

- Often spent in hangover mode, but still with that Sunday as a buffer.

3. THURSDAY

- Because Friday is just a day away

4. WEDNESDAY

- Called "Little Saturday" when I was a student. Midweek, but you're able to combine productive work with laidback sparetime if necessary

5. MONDAY

- Your mind is set on the following work week. A very focussed day.

6. TUESDAY

- It's still in the beginning of the week, and the weekend is far away. But the "let's go" mood of Monday is gone.

7. SUNDAY

- the most boring and frustrating day of the week. Work day is coming up, you have no room for drinks. Everything is pretty much closed. Great day if you like outdoors hikes and have a family, terrible day for people like me who hate hikes and don't have any family of my own. Sundays can go suck a donkey stick!

Having retired about seven years ago, there's not that much difference between the days of the week these days. Saturdays are a bit different as I get up around 7am & walk round the corner to buy a Saturday Times (the only newspaper I buy), & I go to a Saturday market. Sundays are officially lazy days, I don't get up to about 1pm & never get dressed. Not much difference between Monday & Friday, which is fine as I've discovered that I'm really lazy, & after being in work from the age of 15 to 65, I don't feel the least bit guilty about it.

I spent a quite few years working a 6/7 day fortnight, it was (I think) three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off, & then back to three on & so on, they were 12 hour days & weekends & bank holidays didn't exist (except Christmas). I loved it.

I work every other weekend, most holidays and eight out of nine days before my weekend off. Plus I have to get covid tested, and go to employee meetings on my days off or during my free time. Beat that!

Monday is my favorite day of the week, because I hate Mondays, and this Monday is as far from next Monday as I can get!

Saturday
Friday
Sunday
Monday
Thursday
Wednesday
Tuesday

Never liked Tuesdays since double German on Tuesday afternoons. It also lacks the excitement of Monday and is miles away from next weekend.
