I just don't get the ripping thing. Aside from the time-consuming labor, my computer is not in my listening room, and I want the notes at hand when I do listen.

I get the concept, but it just doesn't work for me. When doing serious writing or other work at the computer, I want silence. Sure, I listen to snippets when browsing or just idling, but if the music is at all interesting or demanding, I want to sit down without distraction in an audio environment.
