According to CAM/Sugar´s Facebook website, this will be the first release of their new "Heritage" CD/LP series - a word which reminds me of the Universal heritage series started by LLL in the USA. Probably they just mean the most popular older titles from the CAM catalogue which will now be reissued again with a few additional tracks. The second reason seems to be Rota´s 110th birthday on December 3rd:
" CAM Sugar is proud to launch its new HEITAGE collection dedicated to the most celebrated soundtracks that made the history of Italian cinema. https://CAMSugar.lnk.to/AmarcordSo
"The first instalment of the collection will be Nino Rota’s soundtrack for Federico Fellini’s milestone and 1974 Oscar-winning film “Amarcord”.
Rota’s music is superb in evoking the visions and scents of Fellini’s boyhood in #Rimini, resulting in a timeless classic that stands as a symbol of Italian culture and rural charm in the world.
The soundtrack is presented for the first time ever as a CD and a 180gr gatefold double LP, carefully restored and remastered from the original master tapes, featuring 15 tracks previously unreleased on vinyl.
The double LP also includes a 30x75cm illustrated poster, with the original artwork painted by Giuliano Geleng, and a reproduction of the original Nino Rota music sheets.
“Amarcord” is out on Friday, December 3rd, on the 110th birthday of Nino Rota."
