This means that he has scored in average 13 new films/projects every year the previous decade.

I don't say this is good or bad, I just find it incredible.

How is that even possible?

(Some of them are short films, that has to be mentioned)

Discuss. In a constructive way.

Well, not all of these credits show him as the main composer, so he may as well have only been involved a few days with a couple of these projects. Also (hoping that is not unconstructive) his music isn't all that complex, even the scores I enjoy.
But the sheer number still shows that he is obviously a composer with good reputation with whom directors and producers like to work, or else he wouldn't get all this work (including some really big productions).

He's become a bit of a "fix it" man when producers aren't 100% content with the original score, for whatever reason. So yeah, that accounts for some of the assignments. Balfe is very hit/miss. Some of the stuff is completely generic -- in one ear, out the other. Other things are more inspired. For example, even though it's not on Richter's level, I love his contributions to AD ASTRA. But yes -- he probably has a work ethic that is very flexible for producers, and an ease by which he adapts to things quickly. Like with Desplat, however, I wish he sometimes toned down the sheer amount of assignments every year and focussed more exclusively on a few, inspiring projects. I think his scores would benefit from it.

Also, IMDB usually lists all and everything, even if his music was just used and not written for the movie.

It's also very likely that he has a team of composers to support him (the supporter's supporters....)

What is balfeling though is why most of the composers who enter Remote Control exit sounding the same. Was their unique voice squashed by RC or did it not exist to begin with?

Sausage, it is all sausage.

Sausage is cheap, easy to produce, and you are never really sure what was put into the grinder, or who put it into the grinder. And you can make a lot of sausage really quickly.

John Powell is definitely a slight exception, maybe because he had his own thing going before Remote.

IIRC, wasn't Jerry Goldsmith averaging 10 projects a year through most of the 1970s?

The other side to this is, of course, the amount doesn't matter compared to the quality. And thats not a knock on Balfe. He's taking assignments and making a living.

Sort of? Film has become increasingly flexible and mobile in the last 20 years. A film edit can be "locked" much, much later than it use to be and that means the score can be fiddled with until that 11th hour. And a number of composers are moving more toward samples - which have become increasingly, impressively organic sounding - so while Tom Cruise is jumping out of an airplane on the other side of the world, the composer can bang out a track on a Apple computer and then edit it and match it and whatever from their studio 7 time zones away and not have the expense of an orchestra.
