Does Harold still have some film scores up his sleeve? He turns 70 in october. Still not an old man.
I wonder if his popularity will somehow increase after people see he is still around. OK, I said the same after COP OUT in 2010, and nothing happened, but TOP GUN 2 is a bigger film.
If Lorne Balfe can write 130 scores in 10 years, Harold Faltermeyer can at least write a couple of new scores the next decade?

In all honesty I wonder how much Faltermeyer actually did on Top Gun: Maverick. And I've always been under the assumption that it was more by his own choice that he stopped scoring films
Yes. After having seen the film, I'm simply not sure what Faltermeyer wrote that wasn't part of his original themes. But by all means -- give the man a score already!
I would really like Harold to write composed more new scores (provided he is interested) and that it would be purely his own work(s). Without any Lady Gaga there, etc. In this difficult time, I really want more of his music...
I think he is retired. Makes no sense that he wouldn't be offered film scores.
With the amount of films that are made today, he could easily be scoring 2 to 3 films a year. Maybe not big budget or tentpole blockbusters but at least good decent budget films.
I was surprised too after Cop Out in 2010 he didn't do more film scores.
I could imagine this here would have been part of his Top Gun 2 score if given full control. Its basically a modified version of the Top Gun Anthem. I would like to think he was interested in scoring more films but only he would know.
When he left Hollywood in 1989, it was his own choice, but he continued scoring smaller films in Germany. So he didn't leave scoring behind. He also stated around COP OUT that it was time to return to Hollywood. Why it didn't happen, we can only speculate.
I do know he was in town for some time working on it, however many years ago this movie has been done, so he did do something on it, as to how much, not sure
