I wonder how different the new Jurassic Park will be. Well, aside from having teeth that is.

Would imagine / hope it'll be the exact same programme & master from the previous set. Just some different art.
Considering how quickly the set sold out it's good to see it being made available for any that missed out.

Do wonder however, if the two Horner scores will be the same as the previous LLL/Intrada releases.

Apparently not! From LLL's FB post text:
"Details on the new and improved Jurassic and Clear and Present Danger coming next week when released.
In the mean time, commence with the complaints in 3,2,...."

So it sounds like Patriot Games is just a reissue, judging from its omission in that.

What a year for James Horner fans!

Yeah no kidding. This year is the Year of Horner just like last year (or I guess really stretching back to the beginning of the pandemic) was the Year of Goldsmith.

Reissues, improvements, significant expansions... so much Horner!

Genuinely curious what else could be on Clear and Present Danger? I love that score.

Also - Patriot Games is 30 years old???!!!

It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in the theatre and turned to my sister and said “isn’t that the music from Aliens?” During the redhead flashback scene.

Edit - someone mentioned the film version of Ambush? Maybe that’s what it is?

Well, I'm going to complain. I had to pay $60 bucks just to get the Jurassic Park score. I have no interest in Lost World. Now they're re-releasing it as a stand alone. Thank gawd Intrada doesn't do this sh*t. All the Jaws scores were separate releases.

A new, sealed copy of that JP set is currently on eBay for about $300.
Sell your set, make a profit. Move on.

Ha! I'd forgotten about that. My copy still has that minor "variant." The Jurassic Park collection is one of my all-time favorites.

And here was me thinking I'd closed the book on John Williams/Jurassic Park CDs wink
Be interesting to know what's on THIS edition.
I never bought the Intrada C&PD edition and have come close to pulling the trigger on some seriously over priced copies on the web.
So glad I held out.
This version will be mine.
I already have Patriotic Games, so money saved there.

I like the cover, it echoes the novel. Hard to believe a money train like Jurassic Park could have “misplaced” some elements. Was never into CAPD, don’t like patriotic soundtracks. Same with Air Force One but I’ll revisit it.

I can't imagine what could be missing from JP--was pretty sure it was complete. Maybe some alternates?

I thought CAPD was good but I am pretty happy with the OST--does the expansion have anything earth shattering that isn't on the OST? I haven't seen the movie in years...

I might get all three. Didn’t have the money (or couldn’t justify it with little kids) for the big JP set and flat out missed both the Jack Ryan movie scores. I was close too regarding buying an over priced Danger. I love that movie and the score. These are great for people who missed out on these before. My brother got the JP set and said the raptor kitchen scene was missing so maybe that’s the expanded or improved version there. Can’t wait!

About the entire last half of the movie is missing. The Intrada version had most of what was missing and they expanded it to a full 2 discs with some alternate versions. If LLL found more this should be awesome.

I’m very grateful for the chance to get Patriot Games again since I missed it last time.
Fingers crossed for a re-sequencing that puts the score all on the first disc and making a rather short 2nd bonus cd. But I’m in either way.

Indeed, a big if. From Intrada 'Paramount Pictures provided Intrada with access to the scoring session masters, recorded and mixed digitally.' https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=96787&forumID=1&archive=0

Seeing a lot of movement with Horner titles that went OOP. FSM Star Trek went to LLL and Intrada, Clear and Present Danger from Intrada to LLL. Braveheart and Patriot Games back in stock in LLL.

Re: Clear and Present Danger, at the time of the Intrada release, a number of differences between the takes used on the original Milan album and the re-release were noted, so perhaps some of those alternative mixes and takes will appear here? Whatever, it's a beautiful work, so its return to the market is welcome.

Things that need to be fixed:

Patriot Games needs to present the score on one disc. It will fit easily.

Clear and Present Danger, I seem to recall, needs to fix some missing elements from "The Ambush".

And...

If a remaster of The Sum of All Fears is coming - that one needs a complete resequencing to remove some of the awful segues and present the cues in a more logical / musical way.

"This sh*t"? Doing a combined release was how LLL managed to slip The Lost World out at all. (I guess you'd prefer that everyone else not be able to have a complete Lost World, because you weren't interested in it?) It was a far more significant expansion out of the two and personally the one I bought the set for. Did you even bother trying it, as a listen? If not you're really missing out. But yeah I'm sure someone will eagerly take that set off your hands for considerably more than the $60 you paid for it. So why are you complaining again? (Feels like some people around here do it for pure enjoyment of complaining.)
