On a day when two of John Williams’ finest scores are being reissued by LaLaLand Records, I too mourn the loss of Olivia Newton John.

It is ironic that she died on the eve of the historic re-issues of CE3K and ET’s scores, both of which are celebrating anniversaries this year.

It was Olivia that presented John Williams his Oscar for STAR WARS in 1978. And it was her presence on the Oscar telecasts every time she was on the air, especially when it came to presenting Best Original Score.

Now I wonder who will take her place at next year’s ceremony.

Carrie Underwood comes to mind…but a great personality and talent like ONJ is irreplaceable.

I leave you with this quote…

“I’ll pay the devil to replace her.”
-John Oats

RIP Olivia, and condolences to her daughter Chloe Lattanzi.

With all due respect to Olivia Newton John, who indeed was a great talent and by all accounts a wonderful person, but this post is laughably hyperbolic nonsense.

I don't see a damn thing wrong with Deep's post.

The way the Oscars are going lately, it is entirely within the realm of possibility that they remove the Best Score category from the broadcast as they've done with so many of the other "technical" awards in recent years. They've already been demoted to "pre-taped" features before the main show.

Are you referring to Olivia Newton-John or the Oscars?

Only thing Lokutus cares about is drowning in his own misery, you won't find a bigger cantankerous person than him

Resistance is futile.
