Christophe Beck to Score Marvel Studios’ ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’
Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, Free Guy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Hangover, The Muppets) has confirmed during a recent interview on Film Music Live that he will return to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ original series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The show created by Jac Schaeffer is a spin-off to the studios’ 2021 limited series WandaVision and stars Kathryn Hahn who reprises her role as Agatha Harkness. She is joined by cast members Debra Jo Rupp, Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Maria Dizzia, Ali Ahn, David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Emma Caulfield Ford, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili and Patti LuPone. Schaeffer is also executive producing the project with Kevin Feige (Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther). In addition to WandaVision, Beck has previously composed the music for all three Ant-Man movies and also co-scored 2021’s Hawkeye for Marvel Studios. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to premiere in late 2023 or early 2024 on Disney+.

Seen the two first episodes and I like what Ive seen/heard so far. Wonder if the score will be as good as WandaVision. I remember the score (and the show) got better and better for each episode.
But will Beck ever make such good score as he did for Buffy ever again? He was on a tight budget back then yet still the score was soooo good and creative with amazing and memorable themes. And it was easy to hear that he scored to picture cause he often cleaverly made sure the piano notes (i.e.) was heard between lines and wasnt drowned behind dialogue or sfx. None of his big movie scores has ever really captured me the way his low budget tv scores used to.
Not meant as a "diss" to his works of today, btw. Just my thoughts, lol!
