Fantastic score!..so what do you mean by "...dont know who ...?"
As I said, enjoy! I do myself, I just don't get the vinyl part.
My perception was that colored vinyl sounds worse than the black kind, is that not still correct? So this is less a medium for sound than a limited collectible? Which, considering that the movie surely has a not terribly sizeable fanbase in 2024, just seems an odd choice to m, from a sales point of view.
Has anything Varese has done made sense in the past few years???
I'm sure those in the know here, including myself, are not going to order direct from them. Plenty of people here waiting on orders from last year....and they just keep dribbling out oddball random stuff like this.
I guess this is solid confirmation that, while the other Grusin premieres released at the same time didn’t do well (substantially discounted later in multiple sales), Murder by Death actually sold very well, despite being a comedy score!
That’s encouraging considering La-La Land told us their earlier premiere release of Clue under-performed their expectations fairly substantially.
I just told to them I'm not buying anything from them until they send me my last order a few months back. The fact that these companies are all releasing obsolete LPs INSTEAD of digital CDs is just idiocracy. I get the gimmick or doing it 'in addition to' but doing it instead of CDs is just plain stupid.
The 2019 Varese CD that included 22 tracks for Murder by Death was in MONO. Varese acknowledged this in their description: "The sources provided by Sony are in mono but sound superb." I bought this CD and can concur all tracks are mono. Yet, this new 2024 LP release states "Stereo" (upper right corner of the back cover). I have asked Varese about this discrepancy and whether or not the LP version is actually stereo.
4/11/2024: Received this reply from Varese: "Thank you for your patience while we checked over this. The team did confirm this [the LP release] is in stereo. My apologies for all the trouble."
Those who would like the stereo version (like me) but a CD instead of an LP, should write Varese. Per their website the e-mail address is: store@varesesarabande.com.

These are news that totally baffle me! Murder by death was one of my all-time holy grails. I was overjoyed when Varese released it on CD - and at the same time "frustrated" because of the surviving sources being mono. Reading your comment I would gladly order the vinyl to have the tracks FINALLY in stereo. But I rather doubt that they are. Not only does the Varese website say it´s the same program that was released on CD, the youtube trailer they posted for the vinyl release also has the main title in mono. If they did indeed find stereo tapes from the score (and not simply applied some pseudo-stereo effects on the music) they should have communicated that as the "main news"!
I only can repeat your question: Has somebody on this community bought the vinyl release and can confirm the score is in real stereo?
Am i right in thinking this LP version isn’t available in the international store? If it was in stereo id have bought it.
You don't need to buy it from Varese. I bought it from Amazon and the total price was not that different
Can you confirm that the score is really in stereo on the vinyl version? Or does it contain the same mono tracks like the cd? (Or some mono version with mastering effects put on it to make it sound more like stereo?)
