As much as I love the Barry one (AVTAK, MTTGG, MR needs expansions) I will give a shout out for THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.

I agree. This is one that could use a good expansion, as so much of the the album was rerecorded. In particular, "Bond '77" lacks the punch and dramatic arc of the version written for the ski chase. I'd also love to have that "Chorus Line" arrangement of "Nobody Does it Better" heard over the final scene. The film version of the opening title song (with its shortened conclusion) would also be great to have.

Never cared for this score. Never understood the inclusion of "California Girls" while Bond is skiing.

Using "Pop Goes Bach" isn't a reference that non-British viewers would get.

This sentence worries me a bit: "We hope to have more Octopussy's in by late April early May...AND THOSE TOO, WILL SELL OUT.
So, if you like your Bond's buy them when you can, especially through us because you will get them the fastest. Other retail stores are NOT guaranteed units."
I've ordered mine through MBR...

While I almost always prefer a C&C presentation, I think Marvin Hamlisch was probably right in wanting to present the score as suites built around the main musical ideas. The score just isn't as cohesive as many of the others, and doesn't really build on any musical ideas.

Agree.

I think many will be disappointed by the chronological order of the film score. Marvin chose the best way of presenting the music - as re-recorded suites.

Listening to TLD in film order.

I like how Barry brings in the A-Ha main theme when Bond goes to Tangiers and Afghanistan.
