"Jadwiga Relived" from "Q.B.VII". In the miniseries it's even more chilling (it underscores a scene where Abe Cady, Polish agent Igor Zaminsky and orderly Egon Sobotnik are touring a concentration camp), and Goldsmith referred to this as one of the most difficult pieces of music he ever had to compose.
Damn, I just re listened to The Dress Waltz from Legend. I have to put it in a tie with The Hunt from POTA... both are stunning examples of music to picture. Both are also tour de force orchestral piece in their own right.
That`s very hard to decide but Gremlins 2 was my first introduction to Goldsmith outside watching the actual movie so I guess Pot Luck was one of the reasons I fell in love with his music so maybe that one for me.
Incredibly hard question. I could say “The Legend” from The Going Up of David Lev or “Bajo Fuego” from Under Fire, but in terms of most played mine would have to be “The Sugar” from Medicine Man for just those last 30 seconds or so. I never get tired of playing that really loud.
Of course it is silly to pinpoint a singular favorite Jerry Goldsmith cue, as his output is so diverse and there are so many terrific and very different cues to choose from. But I'm game.
So, my number #1 Jerry Goldsmith cue would be:
"Games/Spock Walk" (9:51) from STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE (as heard on the LaLaLand Edition)
Fascinating, that of all things I picked that last year as my favorite Jerry Goldsmith cue, while it's not even as one long cue on the current version.
