As long as he doesn't bring Zimmer in to dick around with the score and make it sound nothing like the credited composer's style, it should be okay. Is that true about TRON: LEGACY? I thought it was just a film buff urban legend. Regardless, I loved the LEGACY score exactly as it was, no matter who created it.

I thought it was just a film buff urban legend. Regardless, I loved the LEGACY score exactly as it was, no matter who created it. Disney brought Zimmer's company in after test screenings and their involvement is listed in the liner notes of the CD. They are thanked but I don't think any of the RC/MV people actually CREATED music nor do I think Zimmer ghost wrote. Having loved LEGACY and having read all the speculation, I'm surprised the composers or Zimmer haven't taken credit unlike most RC/MV additional music composers that do state what they worked on. I personally think its bullshit since TRON LEGACY has very much that DAFT PUNK sound and believe me, I want more of that music and I don't feel any of the composers thanked has or could provide more. This seems like a project far from the radar of Zimmer and Co. much like HANNA or ATTACK THE BLOCK or GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Do you have any sources to back up this wild speculation Buscemi? I was under the impression from all the interviews I've read that Daft Punk merely sought advice from Zimmer and the other composers thanked, with Bruce Broughton working more directly with them on the orchestration.

This is what I thought too and considering the worked with The London Symphony Orchestra, it never hurts to get help the first time around. I'm sure they had to deal with some sort of temp track but for the most part I found the score to be very original quite elegant for the film. Still, I'd love for someone to say what tracks they worked on!

http://youtu.be/-6nzGfMla-k Preview track: "StarWaves" I'll tell ya, I'm digging the hell out of this. Oblivion just went to the top of my most anticipated score of the year list.
