YOR is "Hot Water", from Outland!

Too bad the entire cue was not used in the movie!

What's yours?

Unquestionably the Passacaglia on the Retreat of the German Army in 'Blue Max'.

Genius evocation and amazing structural complexity.

My favorite will always be "No Escape" from PLANET OF THE APES. The Jacob Gimpel piano playing and that wild climax. I've known it since I first got the LP back when I was nine years old. Will always be my favorite Goldsmith action cue.

Couple of mentions:

The Massacre (Total Recall)
Night Flight (Rambo III)
Escape from Torture (Rambo)
Rickard Escapes (The Last Run)
Raisuli attacks (The Wind and the Lion)
Main Title (Capricorn One)
Roxy Loses (Basic Instinct)
Clues (Malice)
The Bust (Rent-A-Cop)
The Dish (First Contact)
The Hunt (Final Conflict)
Drones attack (Insurrection)
...

Right now I'd have to go with "Find him" from Hollow Man.

I would have to add another for Raisuli Attacks and The Hunt, and I will also add Klingon Battle from STTMP - slow action, but action non-the-less.

No specific track, but every time during First Blood the theme kicks in, I get my socks blown off. Ouf!

Village Raid from Rambo: First Blood Part II.

My favourite action piece ever.

Some people of exceptionally good taste have already mentioned the three or four pieces that immediately sprang to mind. I would post YouTube links, but I think we're preaching to the converted here, so you KNOW how brilliant these tracks are -

The battle cues from THE BLUE MAX. That was the one that came to mind first, followed by...

"No Escape" from PLANET OF THE APES, the helicopter bit from THE CASSANDRA CROSSING, and the "Raisuli" trumpet-killer from THE WIND AND THE LION.

Detractors may say that these are all just hectic examples of showing off, and needlessly complex. Well, all that note-crunching that Jerry Goldsmith used to do (particularly from about '65 to '78) certainly gets my adrenalin pumpin'. I just love the intricacy of how it all fits together, like a million-piece jigsaw all falling perfectly into place from a cloud of scattered fragments.

The Battle from GLADIATOR. ...oops, wrong thread!!! Couldn't resist Dinosaur blood drinker (for the record I suppose I'm in your camp).

"Twisted Abduction" from Poltergeist. The orchestra really gets a workout with this one, and it flows wonderfully. It has snarling brass riffs and crazy strings all over the place, but it's still melodic and well constructed without being random noise. (and strangling puppies, ahhhhhhh!!)

"Raid on Paradise" from Star Trek V. Love the movie western rhythms.

"Clever Girl" from Total Recall. This piece alone is well worth this score's ranking as Goldsmith's top best.

"Escape from Torture" Rambo II. Action and emotion all rolled into one.

"New Friend" from Papillon
"Hanging On" from First Blood

are the two ones I think of when I hear Goldsmith and action music.
