Correct, nothing is going to change my mind. For Kritzerland it's ALL about the music and the best sequencing and presentation of the music - as it should be. If that's chronological, great. But if chronological makes for a bad listening experience, I would never do that - ever. I'm glad there are some who find the ephemera interesting - I don't, but that's just me.

Luckily for us nerds who like to play around with the sequencing of things, Haineshisway doesn't intermingle the individual tracks (unless unavoidable) so with a simple reprograming of the order, we can easily play back the music any way that suits us (only track 24 which consists of two random source cues requires separation - but they can easily be dropped from the program entirely).

Remember the "bad-old-days" of the Tony Thomas produced albums of massive suites with no cue separation at all? Fine for listening, but a plague for organizing into film order.

We have it pretty good these days I'd say!

I'm not sure if I was more charmed or fascinated by this on my initial listen. Imagine what an alternate life this mysterious track 23 vocal It's a Wonderful Life would have had as the movie's stature grew through the years. Thanks to all involved.

So glad to read all these glowing reviews.

My cd is still on its way and will be the first thing I'll play out of the four soundtracks I ordered.

Pardon my ignorance but what is spotify and who put it there? I'm presuming one cannot download from there.

People seem to think that because something is on Spotify it must be legal - not so. I wrote the following on the Rozsa forum some time ago following observation that FSM and Kritzerland discs were available on Spotify:

"I don't believe FSM has put any albums on Spotify and I'm certain Kritzerland hasn't. Lukas Kendall and the other labels have consistently said, when the subject has arisen, that download rights are retained by the studios. THE STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS is teamed with THE RED DANUBE and THE MINIVER STORY, obviously ripped from the FSM Rozsa Treasury. It's presumably on Spotify under the European 50 year copyright provision, only it's not legal because the 50 year period only applies to recordings previously released in Europe - which MARTHA IVERS wasn't. From what I can make out it's easy for anyone to put material on Spotify claiming they have the right to do so through an aggregator like cdbaby. Spotify seem to think that if they pay for every track downloaded [to performing Right Society?] then that makes everything legal".

Spotify is a streaming music provider.

as label with the album this name appears "Red Bitch Music"

Spotify is a completely legal streaming music service that I heartily recommend.

And no, the Kritzerland It's A Wonderful Life is NOT on there (at least in the US).

I don't believe it's completely legal at all. Wonderful Life is on the UK site along with many other Kritzerland titles and other soundtrack label releases. Who put them there? Many are credited to "Classic Soundtrack Collector", whoever that is.

Not sure we can do anything about the UK unfortunately - but here we can and have, so if someone can point me to any Kritzerland release on Spotify I can alert the studios. We just had the nefarious bootleg site take down Wonderful Life - Paramount moved VERY swiftly on that and it was down in an hour.

..mmm, still feels unjust that something like Red Bitch Music can put an album of Kritzerland on Spotify (uk) and (mis) using a european law about rights of 50 year old music. It is not that they place music of it's a wonderfull life on spotify, it is Kritzerlands album of it's a wonderfull life they put on there. i don't see any labour of them putting the album together.

yes.. i realy thought it was part of the business model of Kritzerland, because i also see albums of bsx records and fsm digital on spotify (uk).

And if there is nothing to do about it, than at least i want to see the name Kritzerland standing there not Red Bitch Music. So at least you know as a fan where the good stuff is coming from.

Okay, you smart people all guessed the Neal Hefti release, but why haven't you guessed the second title that will be announced with it? Why is that? Huh? smile

I'll just say this - it will make some of you VERY happy, and some of you will scratch your heads, but it's a major release, very rare, complete and brilliant.

Bruce, are we any nearer to a release similar in concept to your Otto Preminger 2 CD selections from last year ? A tribute to a director, an actor or a composer perhaps ????

S*P*Y*S...the Jerry Goldsmith and the John Scott. Complete.

That would explain the head-scratching and the making some of us very happy, at least. smile

The question is really whether Bruce himself likes either score at all. But he has been promising us at least one more Goldsmith for quite some time now, and maybe it's time has finally come.

Ha! That immediately came to my mind. I would buy it, and I am proud to admit it.

We're still trying to lock down WHICH director, then we'll proceed. The wheels don't always turn as quickly as we'd like.

We're about as far away from SPYS as you can get. I'll just give a little clew - Golden Age.
