I got my replacement for Disc 9 from SAE today. Those two tracks ripped perfectly.

I received the box one week ago, and first of all THANK YOU Lukas for this gorgeous gift, THANK YOU from a Star Trek fan and Ron Jones fan (by the way, the music for SUPERMAN animated series, FSM BOX04, is amazing!) .
I received it but I didn’t listen any CD for one reason: I need the linear notes, I want to read the valuable linear notes before listening the music of the specific episode, but I don’t want to use the screen of my laptop as a “virtual” booklet. I need a “real” booklet. I know… I’m a spoiled child. FSM spoiled me with their fabulous booklets.

In the on-line notes pages there is this statement: “These notes may be printed or archived electronically for personal use only”. So, the idea was to print the notes as a booklet, a personal booklet, for PERSONAL USE ONLY. Actually, I used an on-line print-on-demand service for the best result. Finally, today I received it.

And the DEFINITIVE SET.

If this is not passion for music....

Amazing! Ha, now I want one!

Seriously? What the hell is wrong with you people? WHY do you quote a bunch of HUGE pictures like that? And two people did it...and add one little comment.

I....this board continues to confuse me.

Too bad you had a typo on the front cover!

Glad to read your post, Vosk. I just sent an e-mail to SAE. I need to try to reimport CDs 8 and 12. Both have a track or two that are skipping upon import. May need to be replaced, so was glad to see SAE handled the issue for you.

Again, no major complaint here. Wonderful set!

Just want to be sure all play as great as the music sounds!

Thanks again for this set. I have ordered a number of CDs from SAE and plan to continue to do so.

I was afraid to point that out...

Well, I've been trying to make my notes more linear...

Yea, I know... But for sure there are more errors: wrong font, wrong size and something else. I'll check during the reading. I can re-print it for just 7 dollars, it's not a big deal.

LOL @ schiffy wink

Those 'linear' notes do look good, I might do the same with the pdf file in the future.

I've just started listening to the set, and I'm having a great time! I'm only a few scores into season one yet, but it sure sounds promising (which I already knew, of course, from being a long-time TNG fan).

It's also great to have complete scores to listen to that are only 20-25 minutes long when you've got a busy schedule. smile

Clearly a lot of work and passion went into this set. That's certainly obvious also from the comprehensive online liner notes, which I've printed out and made into a nice 62-page booklet (though not as nice as Tiziano's..). Enjoying that a lot, too! (yes, Thor, I really am! wink)

Yes, the Jones-Box is marvelous, worth every $! I can only feel sorry for Thor. smile

I just finished listening to the set day before yesterday, and I really really enjoyed it a lot. Never got bored or disinterested. Highly recommended set. Thanks a lot Lukas!!

Well, I don't think Thor has anything against this release per se, I was just alluding to the fact that he doesn't care about detailed liner notes.

Wanted to share this, I had the booklet signed by Dwight Schultz (Lieutenant Barclay) yesterday. He was attending the facts convention in Gent. I chatted briefly with him, he told me "The Nth Degree" was his favorite tng episode to perform in.

He really knocked that one out of the park. His later rendition of Cyrano in the episode is fantastic, totally out of his normal casting range. That episode has long been a favorite of mine, glad to see he agrees!

Agree on this, plus it's one of the Jones scores I really wanted on disc too! As mentioned in the liner notes, since Jones's final TNG score, "The Drumhead", was subdued and understated, his music for "The Nth Degree" was the last score for the series in the sweeping scope and action range of "BOBW" and "High Ground". I think it's neat that Jones even referenced some of "Where No One Has Gone Before" with those dissonant, shifting textures as the Enterprise is pulled across the galaxy.

Glad you like the star trek box, Nils. I have it to and enjoying it very much (a great autumn for soundtrack releases all the way)
It is strange to think that is is only one year ago I first watched the show for the very first time. And to have a 14 cd set with its music a year later is just fabulous.

So, I finally got my Ron Jones Box. Props to all involved for an excellent production. I do have one quick question and that is: How much Best of Both Worlds music remains unreleased? I know Lukas et al. did everything they could to get all of it out, but I ask mainly out of curiosity.

Thanks again for getting this project out, Lukas!

How much Best of Both Worlds music remains unreleased?

There might be unused cues and unreleased alternates, but if you go based on what's actually heard in the episode, I think it's actually less than one minute of music (and it's comparatively minor background music, to boot).
