I received the box one week ago, and first of all THANK YOU Lukas for this gorgeous gift, THANK YOU from a Star Trek fan and Ron Jones fan (by the way, the music for SUPERMAN animated series, FSM BOX04, is amazing!) . I received it but I didn’t listen any CD for one reason: I need the linear notes, I want to read the valuable linear notes before listening the music of the specific episode, but I don’t want to use the screen of my laptop as a “virtual” booklet. I need a “real” booklet. I know… I’m a spoiled child. FSM spoiled me with their fabulous booklets. In the on-line notes pages there is this statement: “These notes may be printed or archived electronically for personal use only”. So, the idea was to print the notes as a booklet, a personal booklet, for PERSONAL USE ONLY. Actually, I used an on-line print-on-demand service for the best result. Finally, today I received it. And the DEFINITIVE SET. If this is not passion for music.... Amazing! Ha, now I want one!

Wanted to share this, I had the booklet signed by Dwight Schultz (Lieutenant Barclay) yesterday. He was attending the facts convention in Gent. I chatted briefly with him, he told me "The Nth Degree" was his favorite tng episode to perform in. He really knocked that one out of the park. His later rendition of Cyrano in the episode is fantastic, totally out of his normal casting range. That episode has long been a favorite of mine, glad to see he agrees! Agree on this, plus it's one of the Jones scores I really wanted on disc too! As mentioned in the liner notes, since Jones's final TNG score, "The Drumhead", was subdued and understated, his music for "The Nth Degree" was the last score for the series in the sweeping scope and action range of "BOBW" and "High Ground". I think it's neat that Jones even referenced some of "Where No One Has Gone Before" with those dissonant, shifting textures as the Enterprise is pulled across the galaxy.

I've just started listening to the set, and I'm having a great time! I'm only a few scores into season one yet, but it sure sounds promising (which I already knew, of course, from being a long-time TNG fan). It's also great to have complete scores to listen to that are only 20-25 minutes long when you've got a busy schedule. Clearly a lot of work and passion went into this set. That's certainly obvious also from the comprehensive online liner notes, which I've printed out and made into a nice 62-page booklet (though not as nice as Tiziano's..). Enjoying that a lot, too! (yes, Thor, I really am! ) Glad you like the star trek box, Nils. I have it to and enjoying it very much (a great autumn for soundtrack releases all the way) It is strange to think that is is only one year ago I first watched the show for the very first time. And to have a 14 cd set with its music a year later is just fabulous.
