Has GNP put up the expanded notes on their website yet?

Mine just arrived. Ripping to iTunes as I type this and momentarily my ears will be gorged on Goldsmith Trek.

A more delicate score than I thought. The synth work sound a bit like Goldsmith's 80's work, Gremlins even, but the Ba'ku theme is really lovely and memorable. The action music doesn't beat you over the head.

I don't have mine yet. Got my shipped notice though so should be any day now.

I do have an expanded _______ and I think the score, overall, is quite exquisite. My only gripe are the synths which, in this case, don't really add anything and in some instances get in the way of a very strong piece of music.

Finally got a shipping update just now.

Too bad the expected delivery date was LAST WEEK.

The ship date was published as 8/6 and we stuck to that. Sorry if there was any confusion over the order updates.

Also the extended liner notes are now up: http://gnpcrescendo.com/insurrection/

No worries. I'm just a Grumpy Gus most of the time.

Thanks for posting the extended liner notes!

Something strange though...the first page of them (the front cover) says "2 CD EXPANDED COLLECTOR'S EDITION"!

Was this originally going to be a 2-disc set and the artwork just wasn't updated on this file, or has it changed to one at the last minute due to customer feedback in this thread?

At this point I'm just going to say "enjoy." There were no last minute changes, this is just a human error.

I have to say I have always disagreed with this... I've always thought this score to be one of the better blending of full orchestra and electronics.

By the way, is it just me or are the electronics much more pristine on this mastering than on the original? They just seem much more pristine and have greater presence on all frequencies.

Got mine in the mail today, a day early than expected!

Needless to say I'm happy about this set and I love it. It's nice to finally hear the revised version of "The Healing Process" outside of the film for a change!

Great job on this GNP!

I was surprised by the "quizzical electronics" in the cue "The Holodeck." Goldsmith was going for a far more comical feel than how it sounded in the finished film. On the CD it really comes across like something you would hear in The Burbs score. I always liked the flavor of the music and the visuals in that scene, when Data enters the lake...

One of the distinguishing features of Insurrection is its recording engineering... the score has a much "wetter" sound than any of Goldsmith's other Trek scores. The electronics also seem to share this wet, reverby sound which has led me to wonder if they were played live along with the orchestra. Anyone know if this was the case? I know Jerry did this with some of his very early scores with electronics, but didn't think this was the case for the later scores.

Chris.
