Ordered.
TD's greatest score I think.

No it isn't, but.. it is a nice-1.

You misquoted. He wrote "This was TD's LAST "great" score".

I agree with DF. After this score TD went down the 90's path of non-analog, FM synth commercial tripe. There isn't a single OST after this one that left any real impact on vintage fans of TD. The closest you'd ever get would be GTA5...and it's still miles away.

No miss quote... We all have required tastes. I like this score but prefer earlier work.

It's one for both myself and Mark Banning, this was a project we were interested in when the film was first coming out.

It's nice to come back to it after all of these years and do it justice.

We hope you enjoy it.

This is the first TD expansion - are you able to divulge how you've managed to pull this off? I'm intrigued.

I spent years scratching about for the old deleted CD albums on Amazon Marketplace - like Firestarter, Heartbreakers and Near Dark - at prices that were affordable. That took a while. I took it for granted that we'd never see reissues or expansions. Then the old Wavelength and Near Dark albums were reissued on CD. So I figured, again, that expansions were impossible. And then this Miracle Mile release shows up!

I stronlgy assume this has a lot to do with the recent German BD release which included the isolated score and a brand-new Haslinger interview. I HOPE this might open doors for further expanded TD scores. Ah, "The Park Is Mine" from actual TD elements would be a dream come true. The SS release was taken from music stems. Even with the many sub-par quality elements, TPIM is easily among my favourite 3 TD scores. Eternal thanks to Silva for releasing what they could at the time.

Best,
Burnie

AWESOME! This was TD's last "great" score, on the heels of Shy People.

I think The Man Inside is also a very nice soundtrack. Even Rainbow Drive had its moments. Both 1990.

Miracle Mile is the last soundtrack they did that I own. Haven't heard their film projects after that one. I much prefer them when Christopher Franke was part of the group, though I do like Miracle Mile.

Have the copies already been signed or will it happen at that Creature Features event? Just so I know when to expect delivery.

Ah, signing Aug 13th, shipped from Aug 14th. Must read posts properly in future.

Those are two scores that really do deserve a release.

I guess you know that The Man Inside is available on an EMI France CD, but sure, it's long out of print.

Rainbow Drive would have been a great release!

I have always found it odd that few other producers give TD scores the time of day the way you/BSX, Mark and Mike do. Trust me, it's highly appreciated. Since the days of Silva, finding releases like Park Is Mine in the Tower Records bins when CDs were still in their clam cases was like finding gold at the end of the rainbow for us long time TD fans. Today it's almost just as rare to get unreleased or expanded vintage TD.

I'm pretty sure a label like La La Land would be interested in releasing TD material.

Intrada, not so much, they still seem to focus on more symphonic scores, although an electronic one appear once in a while.

LLL reissued the excellent Wavelength score a couple of years ago but it took a while to sell out so I'm not sure they'd go for another one, which would be a shame.

May have something to do with the fact that it didn't feature a second of extra material...

I found that one too expensive in the second-hand market so when the LLL release came along I was pleased to have it.

Steve DJ and Paul Haslinger at a signing in LA Sunday Aug 13th.
Also, any word where the order # cutoff is for signed copies.

It will happen at CREATURE FEATURES in Burbank

Ford A. Thaxton

Steve just posted this thread to his Facebook account and info on his signing this Sunday so pretty sure he's poking around here.

Got a chance to see Miracle Mile with SDJ, Tony Edwards and Mare Winningham (now husband and wife) in NYC in June - 35mm screening at The Metrograph Theater.

SUPER nice guys. Highly recommend hitting up this signing in LA if you can make it.
