Bumping this. Because in the light of this weeks terribly sad news, surely someone will now bite the bullit and release John Barry's score for 'Goodbye Lover'
I'm thoroughly enjoying La La Land's release of John Barry'score for 'The Golden Child' and am bumping this thread to say that Barry's rejected score for 'Goodbye Lover' must surely be in with a chance of a release if 'The Golden Child sells well.
Six months on and nothing appears to be happening on this one which is a pity as I'm sure it would sell out 1000- 2000 copies. Stiill, the best part of 2012 still awaits.
It would be nice if there are at least a couple of Barry releases, maybe 'Goodbye Lover' will be one of them.
Lukas said he had looked into it but that there were rights issues. However, I'm hoping these could be overcome.
Jerry Goldsmith has had a couple of rejected scores released on CD i.e Alien Nation and Timeline, so it can happen.
Barry is one of the all time greats. Surely all his unrealeased material is worth putting out. He has so much material that should be expanded, remastered, or released for the first time. 2011 wasn't bad as far as Barry releases go, but hopefully 2012 will be better.

We had great releases in 2011 but let's hope foe even better this year. Rejected Barry has to be worth releasing!
I've been hearing about this for a while now. Does anyone even know what it sounds like?
In his post above, 'The Cat, says it sounds like a gloomier 'Body Heat' but I read somewhere that it sounds a little like 'The Tamarind Seed. I'd just like to have the opportunity to hear it for myself!!
Well over a year since I bumped this one. I was beginning to give up hope but with Mister Moses, The Betsy, Peggy Sue Got Married all appearing within a couple of months, I feel that we Barry fans might be on a roll.
Is there any hint that John's rejected score for Goodbye Lover might be in the pipeline?
