I noticed there is a price difference between two of the online sellers.(about 5 dollars) If I buy the lower priced one will they charge more for shipping (USA) or if I buy the higher price is shipping included? Moneys real tight now so I have to save where ever I can. Thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this subject.
I've held off getting these because these releases cover the era of the show unreleased on DVD and I usually like to have the episodes handy before enjoying the scores as stand-alones but this time the 1000 copy edition forces my hand and I will get this now for later enjoyment. I'm glad to see more Universal TV music make it to CD!
I'm a huge fan of both Leonard Rosenman and Lalo Schifrin, so this was an automatic purchase for me. Lyn Murray is a name I'm only marginally familiar with, so I'm waiting for this to arrive with some anticipation.
Haven't bought the Herrmann volumes yet, but I hope to this fall, when I can (theoretically!) afford to buy both volumes.
I'm not sure exactly what music comprises the Murray selections, although I just watched the entire series on cable this past year. It looks like Varese has chosen ones in different styles as a sort of overview of his work on the show. I just hope they are some of the standouts that really show off his work. Must have been difficult to pick only 4 out of the 35 episodes he scored.
It would have been cool if Murray had gone by his real name professionally, Lionel Breeze. Sounds like a fake show biz name though!
Volume 5 = -1000 Copies. It was already available, but you have to travel back in time to get it.
Varese lists Vol.3 at less than 150 copies. Of course this wouldnt include what other stores like SAE and Colosseum have probably reserved for themselves to sell.
only on Varese. Still shows as available on SAE, and possibly other stores. And there's always the ripoff resellers and used market once it is released.

Imagine if one person pre-ordered all 1000 copies from Varese and never circulated them in any way. Wouldnt that be weird? Then it would truly be gone... until someone else bought the rights to release it again.
So, now that Ford Thaxton got the thread (above) locked about a problem with this disc, no one will know about it. This is the only Varese title I ordered (which I have not received yet) and I am finding out there is a problem! Great!!! #$%@#$#! I now really believe Varese is getting lazy as some others here have said. Maybe someone should stay home overlooking the business instead of running off to Krakow! I hope someone contacts Varese about the problem. I stopped calling them years ago because every time I did the phone would just ring and ring with no answer.
With the rate the labels are trying to push titles out before the demise of the CD, are they just getting sloppy?
