It seems to be missing the "Paper Chase" cues. Guess I can't sell my FSM. Unless an expanded "Paper Chase" is coming?

Not to mention the excellent "Conrack"

No FSM CD should ever be sold away. I'm in the process of collecting every one of them -- the music, the art, the passion supplied by Lukas and FSM; it's all worth it.

Wonderful! An expanded improved Williams from my favourite period of his work!

I'm very much with you on that one.

Probably another more-liked-by-non-fans-than-by-die-hard-fans-of-the-composer kind of release.

Interesting point. Maybe it's not cerebral or prestigious enough or lacking gravitas in some other way for the "true believer" but I love the combination of Irwin Allen - John Williams. When disaster films had a soul and feel. The effects maybe were not all too good but they had a substance.
John Williams' music had both substance and was good too.

I MUST have this one. If La-La Land manages to bring back The Towering Inferno from OOP land as well I'll explode with joy!

This just landed in my inbox, and no doubt many more too!

How did you get this info? Is there a place to subscribe to it? When I look on their site, I can't find anything on Poseidon, just as with all their other releases. Not until it's out and open, can anything be found on the LaLa site.

Please let me know how to access the grapevine.

Thanks in advance.

D.S. who's very much looking forward to this one.

1966 Batman I already in FSM version (and am getting the new one too) but I didn't have Poseidon yet. I am becoming a LaLaLover.

Have ordered through Lalaland before? Because that is how I think you start the receiving the emails.

Didn't the Poseidon-theme sound a little bit like the ID4 ??

No, ID4 sounded a little bit like Poseidon.

Count me in for a double dip on both titles. I have the FSM of PA and the original cd of ID4. Both are improved as I see it. The Morning After was missing from the FSM release. Hurry up 3PM eastern US time.

It's funny that those scores are being released together by LaLa. I am talking about the resemblance of the ID4 theme with the opening bars of the Poseidon theme. smile
Great releases! I will buy both, of course.

AGGHH!!! Only 1 hour 6 minutes and 37 seconds left!!

But in all seriousness, I can't remember waiting with such anxiety before these 2 releases.

MV is probably laughing at all of us going crazy, wishing the clock would go faster.

YUK!!! YUK!!! horrible news Poseidon adventure by John Williams has to be the worst score wriiten by him... i have the LP and i did'nt like it that much....

Wish they had released something by Jerry Goldsmith

This fool just joined a couple days ago. He's A) a liar - there was no LP for the Poseidon Adventure
and B) an idiot

This is very good news. I have the old FSM version and love the main and end titles, but never listened to them that much cuz of the somewhat muddy sound. I'm happy to have this new version. Can't wait to hear it!

EXCELLENT choice for the cover art! Like pooter, by the time I even heard of FSM, POSEIDON ADVENTURE (and OMEGA MAN and TOWERING INFERNO) were already sold out. I remember seeing an issue of Film Score Monthly at Tower Records in 2003/2004 and that's how I first heard of the label. I never even knew that certain CDs were "limited editions" before then! So I'm happy to have the opportunity to finally purchase this score, and in Stereo too - what a bonus! Thanks LaLa! cool

I see the trolls are back. ( And it's DIDN'T, not DID'NT--then bad spelling seems to be the least of his problems.)

First Batman, now Poseidon...looks like LLL is now in the business of offering out-of-print FSM titles. This is fine with me if it means I'll get a chance someday down the road to acquire Towering Inferno! I got Batman having missed out on the original release and I'll probably go ahead and upgrade my Poseidon Adventure, too.

I'll be visiting the Land of LaLa here in about forty and ordering me a couple of CDs!!

I will purchase this for nostalgia reasons. I know some like the early JW stuff but personally I think the films, (Poseidon, Towering Inferno, Earthquake, Black Sunday) are really back in JW minimalist days. I have much fonder memories of watching the films than I do hearing the music. However, JW could always write a great kiss ass main theme!

great KISS a-- main theme!

Nasty.
