Hopefully we'll get to see Mulan soon.

Just picked up tonight the Robin Hood one, can't wait to listen to it. I don't remember if I've seen the film, is it good?

It's character-wise not overly original, but it's very funny nonetheless.

It was during the "dark" days at Disney. Huge budget cuts, and the company saw animated films as kiddie fare. It's very much an expensive Saturday morning cartoon.

This appears to be the official cover:

Also, Barnes and Noble has a track list up:

Tracks
Disc 1
Main Title - Prologue
Belle
Little Town
Journey to the Castle
Maurice Taken/Gaston Rejected
Belle (Reprise)
Belle Enters the Beast's World
Gaston
Gaston (Reprise)
Enchanted Objects
Be Our Guest
Be Our Guest - Playoff
Escape From the West Wing/Wolf Attack
Coming Together
Something There

Disc 2
Human Again
Tonight's the Night
Beauty and the Beast
Beast Lets Go
The Mob Song
Battle in the Castle
Death of the Beast
Transformation
Beauty and the Beast
Belle
Belle
Gaston
Gaston (Reprise)
Be Our Guest
Human Again
Beauty and the Beast

It appears the score was long enough to have to be split across two discs like Pocahontas. However, I must admit I’m a little disappointed Human Again is placed in the main program as the song did nothing for the film in the way “If I Never Knew You” did with Pocahontas.

I wonder what are the last tracks of cd2.
Working versions? pop versions?

Also disappointed that they're no alternates/unused cues.

Music behind the Magic has the unreleased "Wolf Attack", which is an alternate for "Journey to the Castle" and also an alternate Transformation cue (which is really the alternate for the death of the beast) that I don't see here.

My guess would be that those last few tracks are demos, which is in keeping with the rest of the releases in this collection.

Larger cover image on Amazon, though still no official announcement from Disney itself. Weird.

Keep the hits rolling Disney! Hoping for "The Rescuers" before years end. I don't imagine there's a lot missing from "The Great Mouse Detective", though I imagine Intrada would release that title.

If Varese doesn't have it in perpetuity, certainly. I second a vote for Rescuers, though I would also like to see some of the package films (though the various big-name singers involved in those films may cause a few legal roadblocks [i.e. Bing Crosby on Ichabod and Mr. Toad]) and some more of their live-action stuff like Darby O'Gill or an expanded Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Had a thought last night that a set of 50 years worth of TV themes would make for a great release. There are so many they've never put out on cd in any form.

Yes to The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad , Fun and Fancy Free, Make Mine Music, etc. I would welcome more live action classics but I think that would fall under Intrada.

Who knows if that music has even survived though, as to whether or not Disney stored those scores.

Would definitely go for Ichabod and Mr Toad though, believe me.

Walt Disney was probably the first in the film industry to foresee the value in storing and preserving his assets. Whether or not they survived rot and decay is another matter.

Kasey actually has a point. Even if Walt made sure to preserve those tapes, there's still a chance they may not have survived. I mean, much of the CD for Alice in Wonderland was taken from a music-and-effects track, so it's possible this could be the case for the package films, though I honestly hope it isn't the case.

That could be the case. I don't recall were the silly symphonies released on LP (Grrrr!!!!) original recordings or re-recordings? Because those obviously date to the very beginning. It's astonishing those survived.

I have the Silly Symphonies LP and it is just the final audio tracks for the shorts with music, singing, and effects mixed together and put on vinyl. I just listened to "The Old Mill" right now and I can hear the frog croaks, the creaking effect of the mill, and the wind sounds. I'm not bothered by the fact that it's not just the music-track only because of the specific nature of the Silly Symphonies shorts not to mention that I have a very hard time believing that the music-only tracks exist for these shorts.

Oh, I didn't know they were the complete audio tracks and not just the music.

You might enjoy the TeeVee Tunes series "Television's Greatest Hits", although there probably isn't any music more recent than the 80s. (A few tracks are re-recordings, though the majority seem to be originals.) I believe all or most of the series found its way to CD, but they might be harder to find nowadays.
