I saw "Final Chapter" years ago (along with most other parts of the franchise), but I don't remember it being better (or worse) than the others.

I have to admit to not understanding the love of part 4 as well. I do not hate it, and do think it is a good entry. But outside of the ending with Tommy, it's pretty standard fare. I think the way Deputy loves part 4 would be how I feel about parts 2 and 6. I just feel they have the best overall tone and imagination. Almost every episode after 6 is downhill IMHO. Part 10 (or X if you wish) did make me laugh, but I can't say it's a great entry.

How does everyone feel about parts 7, 8, 9, and 10?

I consider 1-4 all pretty much on the same tier. I prefer Jason Lives and The New Blood, but 1-4 are directly below those on my list of favorites.

Well we are definitely in agreement here. Parts 2 and 6 are my favorite, particularly #2! If you thought what I wrote above about Part 4 was lengthy, don't get me started on why I love #2...

How does everyone feel about parts 7, 8, 9, and 10?

7: My first Jason film, saw it when I was 11 and it scared the hell out of me. Still think it's the scariest in the series because of its incredibly dark tone and vicious intensity, and because the memories of experiencing it when I was young are ingrained in the film for me somehow. Thought this film had a terrific (if frizzy-haired) heroine who was an awesome match for Hodder's Jason.

8: A terrible, terrible, terrible movie, even by F13 standards. I refuse to acknowledge this one, the only F13 film I don't own. Makes Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X look like masterpieces. An utter failure, from the bloodless PG kills to Fred Mollin's inept score to actors so bad I can't watch without cringeing, and that's saying something for a F13 film!

9: Interesting, but not great. Liked that you could get the unrated version on DVD, which showcases some brutal and imaginative death sequences. Loved Creighton Duke and thought Steven was a really fun male lead and very funny. Admired the film's balls to try something bizarre. Loved the diner and police station set-pieces.

10: Cheesy in a good way. Some hot girls. Loved the Virtual Crystal Lake scene and Cronenberg's cameo. A really bad film but can be fun if you're in the right headspace. Liked Manfredini's gonzo sci-fi/horror blend, especially "Nano Ant Technology" but it still doesn't hold a candle to his Paramount scores.

Love the remake; like F vs. J.

Jason Takes Manhattan was, IMO, pretty poor (although we do get to see Jason punch a guy's head clean off, so that's a plus). I really like Jason Goes To Hell, although not in the same way I would like a F13 movie...and I love Jason X for the fact that they put him into scenarios w/ creative kills that would not be possible in the woods or even in modern day.

The remake is awful.

1-4 would be the golden era of F-13. They all have that solid drama to horror, and at the same time each are hard to decipher from the other due to the same esthetic. Part 4 took it to its height IMO.

Whatever merits Part 7 may have for the supernatural angle it is so cliched in characterization to be redeemable.

Part 6 had everything going for it: Jason is resurrected, nobody believes Tommy, etc and yet I find the light touches of humor to undermine what could have been one of the most hard hitting in the series. Had the esthetic been more towards Parts 1-4 I think it had a chance.

F vs. J- It's more of an action movie than a horror film.
