Get my friend out of jail in time for Christmas. I hope I succeed.

My childlike glee is alive and well, even though the perspective has changed. Now it comes from watching others open the gifts I've gotten them, or watching the faces and excitement of the younger family members.

I have to work the day before, and the day after Christmas, so I don't plan on much "celebrating." We'll be doing the usual...family at my sister's, opening presents followed by a big meal.

One thing I'd like to do sometime over the holidays, is go to NYC and spend some time at Rockefeller Center and see the tree. I haven't done this in years! Nothin' like Noo Yawk at Christmastime! smile

My holiday plans consist of surviving and reigning in an unruly VISA. Damn plastic.

I think I'll have a Happy Holiday here.

You Boyz are crackin' me up!

That is so funny - if only because the Chinese is saying quite something else than the English on that sign. (Or maybe that's the way they say it in Hong Kong...)

I just found out my parents and I are going to my Aunt's house for Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day is at our house. I'm really looking forward to it.

Not much has changed in 30 days, so-

I think it'll probably go a little like...

THIS! big grin

Rather looking forward to this year's Christmas Eve. Our family is going out for a fine dinner and then going back to the house for home made egg-nog. Soft music, lovely times catching up, and a mid night service.

Even as a kid, I thought the Eve of Christmas was special. Truly special. The sheer anticipation. Once Christmas Day was there, it was like, okay- I guess that's it for another year. The entire atmosphere of the house was "it's over."

big grin

Here we go again guys, the holidays are upon us! My parents and I are going to my aunts house for Thanksgiving again. Not sure about Christmas Eve and Day yet. This year might be a little different, because my grandmother moved in with my uncle. What are you guys up to?

We are having a big Thanksgiving at Mom's this year. It's going to be great! Relatives from Ft.Worth and Houston are attending.

...and yes I still live at home.

Nothing to be ashamed of, henry, unless you're over 25. wink

As for me this holiday, the usual: having mom-in-law and a few other family members over to exchange gifts and enjoy a delicious feast. Plenty of beers and cheers to go along, of course.

I am over 25 and I still live at home. For many reasons such as mom & dad lives in a pretty big house and after the death of my only sibling, my older brother then they feel more secure if I still lives at home (he died in a car accident) and I do not have any problems with that. Ok, I got a job recently after beeing unemployed for a long time and back when I was unemployed I felt there was no good idea to move but now I slowly starts to think that I might move out next year.

Back to original topic: No plans for the upcoming holiday.

It's WAAAAY too early to think holidays or Christmas. I even put my summer sandals away just recently. So ask me again in a month at the earliest!

The holidays are when you're asked to see family you outright avoid every other day of the year. I'm not sure about Thanksgiving but Christmas always ends up being an ugly drive around the county to see family. I usually cannot wait til its over.

Thanksgiving and Christmas have been "same old, same old" the last several years, and I hate that. I miss the days of huge family get-togethers at the grandparents' for Thanksgiving, seeing all of my cousins, aunts and uncles, having a big dinner, just hanging out, etc. They were always so much fun growing up. We're not all spread out that far from each other nowadays, but I still just rarely get to see a lot of my family on a regular basis aside from my parents and brother, so I look forward to hopefully seeing at least some of them around this time of year.

The older you get, the smaller the family, that's for sure.

You're very right Steve. I miss the big family celebrations of my childhood, good times. I still have a good time, but it's not the same. I'm getting old buddy.wink

I'm with Thor. Advance planning is not one of my strengths at the moment.

This year I'm opening presents on Christmas Eve with my parents, and the next day we're having my grandmother, aunt and uncle over. Hopefully the weather won't be bad like last year. BTW, last weekend we got about two feet of snow, it took about an hour and a half to snow blow the driveway! What are you guys up to?

We just recently moved mom into an assisted living facility, her Alzheimer's had taken over to the point where she just could not be alone. She has had a few bad falls in the last month so she either spends the day in a comfort chair or her concave mattress, and with her doctor we're adjusting her medications so she doesn't feel the constant anxiety or need to wander...sooooo... we kinda called off the gift giving thing this year. But my sister and I will get mom a few gifts, though it's doubtful she remembers it is Christmas. We're skipping the big Christmas meal thing, instead making a huge breakfast that day, and then we'll spend time with mom at the facility during the afternoon.

I already bought myself most of the CD's from my wish list anyway razz
