However, I was expecting to celebrate in Newcastle this year, as our plane was cancelled and the chances of getting back on time looked slim. But here I am, back home. Will be celebrating with my parents, sister and grandmother (whose health is slim). My brother lives in Newcastle, so he won't be joining. Big party on Christmas day, I suspect, with friends. Most of my immediate family have past on. Extended family members live a thousand miles away. I'm sorry about your immediate family. My extended family is now in Arizona and Florida, I'm in Minnesota. I do still have an aunt and uncle in Minnesota, but unfortunately don't see them much. As my dear old grandmother used to say when I went camping as a teen in the mountains of Glencoe, "Mind yersel' son, there are a lot o' queer biddies oot there who urny quite richt in the heid". Will you be taking your computer and desk with you? It'll be very worying if you're out of contact for four months.
