Y'know folks, I don't know whether he has gone for good or not, but I don't think we should really be all falling over ourselves with laughter in taking the piss out of him. He has said some extremely odd things in his posts here, often deliberately provocative, but I sense that despite his wild statements his heart is in the right place. He's terrible at expressing himself and is always putting his foot in it, but nobody knows what he's really like. Perhaps there's a shy, sensitive individual behind all the WTF? stuff he posts. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt anyway.
Graham, I don't want to see dan leave the board and take no joy in seeing him do so. I just think the "poor me" response he gave earlier is childish. You don't see a lot of self-pity on this board; actually none. I just want dan to put his big boy pants on and develop some empathy for people. That's all I think most people would ask of him.
The thing is, Ed (may I call you Ed, Miss?), you can't teach people empathy, least of all through message board posts. If dan's reading this, he might get a kick out of what I'm going to say, or he might be insulted. I think he's got some kind of verbal incontinence syndrome, where he just spews out all kinds of gibberish. I'm not even that sure he believes it himself. And regarding his views on controversial issues, well I've got grandparents who hold similar views, but they'd never express them in the way dan the man does. Only dan can be so tactless. But again - I don't think he can help it. Surely he is to be pitied?
By the way, I see he's changed the topic heading. That could be another cry for attention. I hope it is only that.

I've been reading the latest posts on this thread, and I know I'm getting old and somewhat unaware.....but, surely everyone must realize that Dan the Man started this thread with his "leaving the board" declaration back in October of 2012 , nearly two years ago!!!!
And surely you know that Dan has been posting regularly and extensively since then. Don't you???
For fans of Dan, he's never left the room.
For non-fans of Dan, he's never left the room.
Yeah, we know. DavidinBerkeley bumped this thread after Dan announced he was leaving again in another thread.

Why should I be ban? Because of the last statement. ok . Interesting, times are a changing.peace.All the trolls the bad will fighting here, why are you getting on me? Amazing when you look at the whole board over the years. I am proud of what I have said because they are wise basic statements of life beyond the limited perceptions of the too often foolish world we live in.If MR BEKERLEY mention the TODAY SHOW EPISODE a few days ago would that be a no-no'if I said I loved the last statement of a movie TO GOD THERE IS NO ZERO really thinking what that could mean in so many ways relating to life issues would that be wrong.? Let's be honest there is incredible bias on this board, whatever side one is on. deep down inside we know it.Sadly getting your wish to banned me would bring it out in spades.
