Benjamin Wallfisch will score the new version It.

As a huge fan of the novel I always hoped Chris Young would've scored it but after hearing A Cure for Wellness, I think Wallfisch is also a fine choice.

Excellent choice. Excited for this one.

He has been infected by Remote Control-itis in the past few years from his time spent there (I know, it's how the morons want it to sound), but I hold out hope that, like Mark Mancina and John Powell, he can move forward developing his own unique sound and talents.
I have some hope for this film being decent, so here's to it working out well for everyone (I saw a still of Pennywise staring out of the storm drain in a mag this week and it gave me chills from my memory of reading the book eons ago).

Let's hope he takes, frankly, the exact same approach that made Richard Bellis' to the original so effective: Emphasizing the broken, pained childhood nostalgia of the protagonists first and foremost, and the horror aspect secondarily.

Good choice, but only if he can leave those terrible Remote Control reverberations alone. They nearly ruined a lot of the big stuff from A Cure for Wellness, making an orchestral score from 2017 sound like a Zimmer brass synth experiment from 1995.

He also seems to play it very safe so there is nothing surprising about any of the music he does. Not a great composer, or even a musician in the Wallfisch tradition, if he continues along this line. Feuerwalschen was getting there but then those silly Zimmer brass sounds came along. Seriously, why would any self respecting composer think he would need a sound that was so out of date in Gladiator? Wallfisch has huge talent, no mistake, but he needs to be braver about his musical choices and not feel constrained by the HZ factory.

Good choice - and his A CURE FOR WELLNESS-score makes me hopeful that he will do justice to IT.

Hopefully, as it's from the director of MAMA, he will encourage Wallfisch to write some broad/beautiful/dark music akin to the Velazquez effort.

Indeed, that's probably the best we can hope for.

Oh boy, I sure do hope Wallfisch writes something like this again soon:

Thanks for that clip - I did not know this score and it sounds terrific!

Wow. I LOVE IT!

It conjures images I actually had while reading the novel, and it wonderfully alludes rather than shows. Hopefully, the whole film will be as great.

They're talking a 2-CD set, here.

The preorder link is only for the digital album. The LP is also available for preorder, but there isn't any information about a cd release. It is possible that the cd release will be a CD-R, which Water Tower doesn't tend to offer for preorder.

There's no samples yet for this score, I'm unknown to Wallfisch, but i've read good things on here about him + I like horror scores, so maybe I'll pick this up.

What are you talking about? Those two cues are nearly five minutes total. Did you even press play?
