I can't find the Sulaco! The assault ship mentioned above is only PART of the Sulaco.

No, that's the Sulaco. It's just really small compared to most of the other ships in the chart. The description "US Colonial Marine Corps Conestoga-Class Assault Ship" refers to the class of vessel that the Sulaco belongs to. The Sulaco is just to the left of the description.

Really? It's "just" 350 meters long? That's certainly not the impression I get from the massive vistas in the film, and what we see of its interior. Yeah, it's obviously smaller than the Nostromo -- which is basically a floating refinery/city -- but still.

350 meters! So, something the size of a modern aircraft carrier not big enough for you Thor?

I think there are some iffy size comparisons on this chart but it is excellent, what would really send my brain into meltdown would be finding out that this chart was drawn up by a woman. wink

Sure, but when you see the film, you see that the hangar itself is much bigger than that. And that's only one room (albeit the biggest)!

Completely subjective and conjured up since for much of those ships there is nothing stated as to what the 'actual' measurements really are. So in other words - pretty irrelevant.

Many of those ships are from a sci-fi MMORPG called EVE Online. I've written for it and know those ships well.

I kinda wished I'd seen the Rama ships from Clarke's novels. Did anyone notice if they are there?

No, but the ID4 spaceship is there direct from Clarke's Childhood's End wink

That's 'cause when I went to edit the first post five hours later I accidentally clicked "reply" rather than "edit" and didn't realize it until after I was done . Either way, the shite still stands.
