I don't know that I hear much of a Curtin vibe, except in that solo tuba that he used to use for Fred Flintstone. I suppose the bouncy melodies are slightly Curtin-esque (Curtin used them, I think, to suggest movement when the incredibly limited animation featured almost none!). In some ways, Curtin jazzed up the old music hall traditions that accompanied comedies.

I agree with Pedestrian Wolf, the score is very well constructed -- when the motifs return, transformed, they mean something. The Joy theme, heard so sweetly and tentatively at the very beginning (and reverberating around the empty shell that is the newborn's brain), comes back at the end confident and jazzy, ready to take on the next challenge. (I'm also particularly fond of Bing Bong's theme.)

Very true words. Giacchino made a master piece of this, going right to the core of what film music is supposed to be. Score of the year, until this far, and I'm compelled to say: an tough nugget for John Williams.

Correct. 99% of the CDs I've bought in the last 10 years have had a clear plastic disc holder, and they've printed art on both sides of the back card as a result. Inside Out is the first time I've gotten a black holder w/ no art on the back of the tray card in quite a long time.

I replaced it with a clear one and pasted art fron the film on it!
