These are my favorite kinds of surprises: Unexpectedly unearthed hidden gems of true symphonic aplomb and rigor and vitality for under-the-radar projects.
Don't think I could say it better than this. Thank you for rescuing this Intrada. What a delight.
I'd say one other thing regarding this release : hearing the music and realizing how GOOD it is, fills me with a desire to see the film for which it was written. Nothing on Youtube though!
Going out of print already? That was fast! I am glad I got my copy, it's a wonderful score.
I don't usually plug albums that I have worked on, but I really must speak up on behalf of Shire's score. It's one of the rare opportunities he had to write in the big, sweeping style for a Sci-Fi film (like, maybe the only other time other than the end of 2010) and it's just beautiful. Seems like it should appeal to fans of older film scores as well as the '80s-'90s crowd. Check it out!
I picked this up on a whim after hearing the clips; it absolutely delivered! I'd never heard of the film, barely knew any Shire, but listening to this disc has been a real treat. Thanks Intrada!
This had been a want for me ever since Intrada announced it. The impending deletion made me pull the trigger. I received it the other day and it is spectacular. Shire pulls out the stops and delivers a symphonic science fiction opus that would not be out-of-place alongside other grand 1980's-era alien invasion scores.
Shire's writing is so detailed and classy that it irks me he can't get noticed and hired in our current film scoring climate. We need and should want more film scores like THE JOURNEY INSIDE.
