Levay is notoriously difficult to pin down.

I've had e-mail contact with him several times and he said he would do the interview in early august, but then suddenly he's in Tokyo for weeks or something with his musical...

Thought I'd post this link here

The gist from the comments section is that Mannequin is being released but with only 20 copies made. Unsure of when it was released or if it's still to be released.

Hopefully, this is not a joke. I'd genuinely appreciate a release of MANNEQUIN.

CyraxDiffusions has also been teasing the release of Tangerine Dream's "Street Hawk". In fact, he actually sold the CDs using the same nickname on eBay. There's currently one release offered by a seller in Malta (item #141766137233 on eBay) which seems to be the one. The seller correctly identifies it as CDR, and probably bought it when CyraxDiffusions offered it.

I don't know what to make of CyraxDiffusions. It's my understanding that the guy behind it does indeed make covers of past scores (some work by that nick has been on Coverbattles), but I have no idea why he would talk of official releases. It appears the guy is French, and in case anyone's curious, it's easy enough to find out the name behind the nick.

Welcome to the forum, by the way! I like your favorite composers.

I saw a single disc and a double disc of Streethawk. Both are obscenely priced. The guy you refer to records recreations as tries to pass them off as the real thing. He posted an "unreleased Miami Vice" track called "Two Cops Are Better Then One" on YouTube, and right away you hear a sound that's close to what Jan used back then, but no cigar. The whole thing sounds far too pristine, too. A user down in the comments area called him out, too.

According to fans of the show, one of the releases is based on bootlegs and unrelated Tangerine Dream albums. The other goes even beyond that and includes stuff by Giuliano Pilati. Pilati has done some nice "inspired by" work based on Street Hawk that are free to download on his website. Makes me wonder if the other stuff is actually by him, or if it's stolen from elsewhere.

Whatever the case may be, we can forget the talk about an official release of Mannequin. If one appears on eBay, it's as "official" as the Streethawk releases. A shame.

Hey I just dug this up and had a question - “Something is out There” has that ever been released at all?

I just did something I have had plans for years doing, that is burning a CDR with the best film and TV themes by Sylvester Levay, taken from CDs, CDRs and youtube. Until a record label finds out that this could be a wise thing to do (which is probably never), this would have to suffice. What a great compilation!

Here is the track list:

1. AIRWOLF (MAIN THEME EXTENDED AERIAL) 3:47 (1984/1999)
2. TIME BOMB (OPENING) 3:12 (1984)
3. INVITATION TO HELL (MAIN THEME) 1:41 (1984)
4. WET GOLD (CLOSING) 1:23 (1984)
5. OTHERWORLD (INTRO) 1:35 (1985)
6. CREATOR (MAIN THEME) 2:57 (1985)
7. ANNIHILATOR (END THEME) 3:11 (SYLVESTER LEVAY & UDI HARPAZ) (1986)
8. CHOKE CANYON (END CREDITS) 2:13 (1986)
9. COBRA (SKYLINE- not featured in the film) 3:28 (1986)
10. MANNEQUIN (JONATHAN) 1:05 (1987)
11. THREE O'CLOCK HIGH (JERRY'S DECISIONS) 4:28 (1987)
12. THE TRACKER (END CREDITS) 2:18 (1988)
13. SOMETHING IS OUT THERE (OPENING) 1:28 (1988)
14. MANHUNT (END CREDITS) 0.53 (1989)
15. NAVY SEALS (HIGH JUMPERS) 5:25 (1990)
16. SNOW KILL (END CREDITS) 1:35 (1990)
17. DARK AVENGER (RESCUE) 0:56 (1990)
18. CRY IN THE WILD (END CREDITS) 0:50 (1991)
19. HOT SHOTS! (MAIN THEME) 2:19 (1991)
20. STONE COLD (END CREDITS) 1:29 (1991)
21. THE OWL (FLASHBACK) 3:13 (1991)
22. FALSE ARREST (END CREDITS) 0:50 (1991)
23. IN THE DEEP WOODS (END CREDITS) 0:51 (1992)
24. STALKING LAURA (OPENING THEME) 2:38 (1993)
25. DONATO & DAUGHTER (END CREDITS) 1:30 (1993)
26. FLASHFIRE (END CREDITS) 2:33 (1994)
27. MEDICOPTER 117 - JEDES LEBEN ZAHLT (MEDLEY) 2:59 (SYLVESTER LEVAY & LOTHAR SCHERPE) (1998 - 2007)

TOTAL TIME: 60:52

Comments?

Besides the fact that it is missing his music from Courage Mountain which I adore I would had loved to have this myself.

Music from Courage Mountain was unfortunately not on YouTube when I made this CDR in 2015...
