We are very close to our 500th unique customer (okay, it's not as many as other labels may have, but for us, it's still a big number...) Therefore, we are offering a 50% discount to the 500th person posting an order at <http://www.fortytwotradingco.com/> on their ENTIRE ORDER.

You can order as many as you want to, and this includes everything in the store. Yes, you will receive everything in your order at half price (before shipping).

We have uploaded a ton of One-of-a-Kind/ used/ OOP albums that also fall into this category.

And: We have just released a new album by a fan favorite composer. So dig in!

How does one know if they are the lucky 500th customer? Is the discount applied automatically at checkout or do you just have to gamble and place an order and hope that half your money gets refunded back to you if you are the lucky winner?

Yes, you have to place the full order and put it on your credit card, and if you are number 499 or 501, you're stuck with paying full price.

That's the fun of playing the lottery. When you buy a ticket you don't know if you will win, either.

I'll sit this one out. Let us know how it goes.

I think it's a cool idea. I know that everything is relative, but if you're used to spending, say, 40 dollars a month on CDs, you'd be mad to spend 400 simply on the off-chance of getting it all for 200. I'd maybe up my usual 40 dollars to 60 for once, and if I'm lucky I get it for 30. A nice little surprise!

If you've purchased before, you have no chance of being the 500th unique customer! This must only be for new customers.

That said, it's a great label, with some great titles, so always worth joining their customer list. And, as lotteries go, it beats the Varese LP to CD scheme (pay for unknown titles and $120 on top for posting what could have been sent at once for $12).

So you're telling us that if in two consecutive orders, one person orders one $20 CD and someone else orders $300-worth, you'll happily give $150 discount to the second person, rather than conveniently pick the first one as the so-called "winner" and give him just $10 discount? Sounds a very generous promotion.

Given its a 'promotion', surely the temptation would equally apply to doing the opposite and giving the bigger discount.

So all things considered, I'd say take him at his word.

Well, the speculations had to come to an end. Our 500th customer was Michael M from Torrance, CA. Congratulations. And enjoy your CDs.

Question, do you ask other great labels, "hey Intrada/La-La Land can you just release all your CDs once per month so in a year I can cut my shipping charges in half? Each month you get a limited edition CD similar to all the other great labels. We all have the choice to buy what we want!

Good job Persevearance! They put out great CDs and I proudly own a lot of them! Hope Michael is happy with his new groovy CDs!

If they asked me to agree to them all upfront, with the knowledge that the CD packaging was barely thicker than a sheet of A4, then yes I would. And where do you get half from? I didn't say Varese were charging *double* what was required, I said they were charging *TEN TIMES* what was required.

Robin, how far from release is that 80´s grale that has been in the works for a long time now?
I have 15-20 CDs from Perseverance and love the smaller titles released, but that gralerelease sounds yummy

This always really bugs me ( .. admittedly I'm having a dispute with a company over a telly just now so I'm up for a rant!) There are two perfectly good questions asked in this thread and absolutely squat response on them! Its fine to come and advertise to get us to buy the products but God help us if we want to ask a question about a release! A lot of companies are great about this here but some just..aren't. I've been hoping for info about that 'grail' release as well ( yeah we all know what its meant to be) since it was first discussed.
Okay, thats it...now about the tv...

spook - sorry to hear about your telly! But to be fair to small labels such as Perseverance, I don't think they spend much time looking at message boards. It would be an overwhelming task for a small company to monitor all the online forums looking for questions to answer.

Robin Esterhammer seems to have posted about four times this year. Last year I count about 9 or 10, so yes, I think he comes to give a little bit of news (such as the 500th Customer Sale, which drew to a close really when he mentioned the lucky guy) and then gets back to producing soundtracks, or doing whatever else he wants to do.

At the risk of sounding like someone who's not me, there is a contact email at their site. You could try that, and if you get a reply, post the news here - if there is any.

Anyway spook, I know it's your telly that made you go off your rocker, so, bloody hell, kick the schidt out the damn thing for me!

Graham,

I really hope that you picked up the Perseverance release of Tangerine Dream's THIEF with the Craig Safan cue added. I had an email correspondence interview with Craig, and he answered a lot of questions concerning his involvement after TD had left for Europe.

All the best.

JP
