CD arrived yesterday. I'll have to listen a couple times and get back to you on the music itself, but it's a terrible presentation. When the volume is low enough that the loud tracks aren't too loud, some of the quiet tracks are literally inaudible.

Maybe its a new phenomenon? Same with JNH ALL THE WAY. First couple of tracks quite low.

Great review!! Mine was more like "Holy shit, the new Ghostbusters score kicks ass", which is a direct quote of what I sent a friend in a text message.

Jon, I agree 100% with your review, especially the very last paragraph.

I finally got this score CD and I just love it!!

As a big Elmer fan my expectations were low... but after listening, this is the best score Shapiro has ever wrote.

However, too bad the movie itself is so awful.

My spouse and I saw this over the weekend and we both loved it. The final confrontation stuff went on a little long for my taste, but otherwise I thought the movie was a whole lot of fun. Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are amazing.

Outside of the few quotes of Parker's song, I didn't really notice much about the score (however, I don't typically pay attention to a score the first time around with a movie).

I've seen it three times. Planning a fourth on Friday. Even the Fall Out Boy song is growing on me.

Saw the film yesterday, and liked it and the score a lot. Kate McKinnon steals the film, while Kristen Wiig is pretty much the straight man for much of the humor. The good news is that there is a lot of humor (although the film could do with a little less of Chris Hemsworth, at least until the climax). The score seemed to deliver in the film. I hope it holds up on its own.

My plan came to fruition.
