CD arrived yesterday. I'll have to listen a couple times and get back to you on the music itself, but it's a terrible presentation. When the volume is low enough that the loud tracks aren't too loud, some of the quiet tracks are literally inaudible.
Maybe its a new phenomenon? Same with JNH ALL THE WAY. First couple of tracks quite low.
Great review!! Mine was more like "Holy shit, the new Ghostbusters score kicks ass", which is a direct quote of what I sent a friend in a text message.
My spouse and I saw this over the weekend and we both loved it. The final confrontation stuff went on a little long for my taste, but otherwise I thought the movie was a whole lot of fun. Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are amazing.
Outside of the few quotes of Parker's song, I didn't really notice much about the score (however, I don't typically pay attention to a score the first time around with a movie).
Saw the film yesterday, and liked it and the score a lot. Kate McKinnon steals the film, while Kristen Wiig is pretty much the straight man for much of the humor. The good news is that there is a lot of humor (although the film could do with a little less of Chris Hemsworth, at least until the climax). The score seemed to deliver in the film. I hope it holds up on its own.
