The BBC has confirmed that this week's Doctor Who episode has been edited out of respect for victims of the Manchester bombing.
A small sequence in the episode, refering to terrorism, has been removed from the programme which will be broadcast this weekend. This is not the first time a episode has been edited because of events in the real world. In 2014 the episode Robot of Sherwood was edited shortly before transmission, following the murder of two hostages by terrorists.
A spokesperson told Radio Times:
Following the tragic events in Manchester, we have made a small edit to this week's episode of Doctor Who.
The remainder of the episode will not be changed and will air on its scheduled slot at 7.45pm on 25 May on BBC1.

This series has been good so far. Not without it's issues, but the episodes haven't been as silly as some in the past. Pyramid At the End of the World was one of the most gripping for some time. Peter Capaldi and the new girl have great chemistry and are both great performers.
They have been a little heavy handed with making sure everyone knows that Pearl Mackie's Bill Potts IS A LESBIAN. They've all but had her wearing a t shirt announcing it. Silly thing is the BBC issued a video interview announcing it saying "it's no big deal". Yet the only ones making it so is them! I don't recall anyone objecting to John Barrowman's Capt Jack being gay, and they never announced it either.
And after some weeks of fans asking what's the point of Matt Lucas as Nardole, he too has settled into a pretty good addition to the cast.
Not strictly on topic, but I just came across this video of a deleted scene from the Mark Gatiss episode of 'Who Do You Think You Are?' where a good friend of mine, Bob Curran, writer and historian (and comic-book scripter, lecturer, you name it) enlightens him on some of his illustrious ancestors:
