How about actors you like but sometimes don't like?
For instance Steve McQueen. I grew up when McQueen was a huge star. I saw BULLITT when it originally came out, and THE SAND PEBBLES in a reissue, and PAPILLON....
Anyway, I think I cried, or at least was very upset when he died. But in the decades since, reading what he was like often behind the scenes and in his relationships, sometimes I look at him now and I'm not so crazy about McQueen.
Another is Wallace Beery. Love VIVA VILLA, THE CHAMP, MIN AND BILL, TREASURE ISLAND, CHINA SEAS, but have you ever read what Beery was like in real life? Yikes! Not a nice guy is an understatement.
