How long did the concert last?

It started just after 7-30pm and ended around 10-35, but there was a 20 minute interval.

It was a wonderful evening. The composer’s first live show, and he was obviously overwhelmed but still managed to be charming and entertaining in his comments between performances. His daughter did a great job of the hanging tree. I saw members of the choir still singing it out in the corridors during the interval! The visuals, lights, brief snippets of dialogue were all put to great use. Quite spectacular. There was a fun ripple of excitement in the crowd when James Newton Howard mentioned that Hans Zimmer was in the audience somewhere. David Yates, too. But the focus was squarely on Mr Newton Howard and his incredible body of work and I’m really pleased he felt the love during the standing ovation and two encores.
I’ve tried to insert an image of the programme below, just in case it’s helpful (never tried embedding an image before, so fingers crossed!) It’s not entirely accurate - e.g. the ‘Main Title’ from ‘Signs’ actually included a segue to ‘The Hand of Fate’, so the three-note theme could develop and conclude beautifully. And the encores aren’t listed, of course.
For my part, I was just thrilled beyond measure to discover ‘Tarawa’ from ‘Snow Falling on Cedars’ in the programme. It’s always been a personal favourite that I find intensely moving, but I didn’t dare hope it would be included because the film itself is not well known. I’ll never forget the experience of hearing the choir and orchestra pound out that heart-stopping cue in the Hall. They killed it. Absolutely killed it.

Haha. No worries. He's taken a leaf out of his mate Zimmer's book, cos apart from the nice glossy programme - 12 quid!!! - there were t-shirts, mugs, keyrings and the like by the main doorways.

It was indeed a fabulous concert. He was noticeably nervous at first (understandably) but over time became more relaxed and was overwhelmed by the audience reaction and encouragement.
The concert had a high production value feeling - lots of dramatic lighting, very professional movie montages, merchandise etc. I was a bit worried as it started that it was going to be more a "show" than a concert but that changed as JNH gave some wonderful snippets and recollections of his career in-between each piece. The piece he performed talking about his big break with Elton John accompanied by music and animation was very original and for me it was touching that he said just after it had finished that he had deliberated about doing the piece and nearly scrapped it at the last minute.
The music was just fantastic - the orchestra and choir were outstanding. Highlight for me was Blood Diamond with an incredible performance by the solo vocalist. I would have swapped out Batman for Waterworld but given Hans Zimmer was in the audience I guess that would have been disrespectful! Loved the Julia Roberts montage, Snow White, Hunger Games, Snow Falling on Cedars, Last Airbender, Dinosaur...everything was just superb. Great value for money too with the 2 extra pieces at the end.
Sadly I arrived just after the programmes were sold out so if anyone fancies selling me their programme for full price and shipping I would love to take it off your hands!

Boy... I'm REALLY surprised that out of all the things he picked for the concert, his "Grand Canyon Fanfare" wasn't amongst them. I think that would be a "no-brainer" for inclusion.

Frankly, The prince of tides is not the best way to end such a spectacular and strong concert.
He didn't perform that in The Netherlands. Everybody left after Maleficent.
