It sounds like he would be right at home in the 80's film scoring scene. Nice music, I like it, but it's been done before. That what it sounds like to me at least.

When I first started frequenting film music boards, this score was brought up quite often as a fan favorite, but I never got around to picking it up. A lot of people around the time thought Mark McKenzie would eventually be scoring the biggest blockbusters, and it's too bad that didn't happen - I'm listening to this Overture, and it's very good. Unfortunately, this film (a troubled production from what I understand) was dead on arrival at the box office, and while the score should've gotten McKenzie tons of work, it wasn't too long before American comedies stopped having consistently huge, rich symphonic scores. Of course, I think this Overture demonstrates that McKenzie can do anything. And yes, the poster art has a very "Weird Science" vibe to it, which of course was the film that inspired the "Amazing Stories" episode Zooba mentions above. I don't get the impression that "Ms. Hyde" has too much much in common with either, but I guess any plot involving science experiments and an attractive woman will get the comparison. McKenzie seems to be writing a lot of theme music for Hallmark productions these days. Has anybody heard any of that material? His newest feature is a somewhat dramatic-sounding CGI film called "Max & Me" (not to be confused with "Mac & Me"). He's still out there.

Holy cow. I remember this guy from school. I had no idea he did film scores.
