Surely, its a mistake, but anyway: It's an article about Oscar predictions, and has this to say about the Original Score Oscar: Best Original Score FRONTRUNNERS Dunkirk (Hans Zimmer) Darkest Hour (Dario Marianelli) The Shape of Water (Alexandre Desplat) Detroit (James Newton Howard) War for the Planet of the Apes (Michael Giacchino) MAJOR THREATS Wonder Woman (Rupert Gregson-Williams) Battle of the Sexes (Nicholas Britell) Victoria & Abdul (Thomas Newman) Baby Driver (Steven Price) Wonderstruck (Carter Burwell) POSSIBILITIES Okja (Jaeil Jung) Molly's Game (Sufjan Stevens) Call Me By Your Name (Sufjan Stevens) LONG SHOTS Mudbound (Tamar-kali) The Current War (Volker Bertelmann & Dustin O'Halloran) Jane (Philip Glass) STILL TO COME (alphabetical) All the Money in the World (John Williams) Blade Runner 2049 (Johann Johannsson, Benjamin Wallfisch, Hans Zimmer) The Greatest Showman (John Debney, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul) Phantom Thread (Jonny Greenwood) The Post (John Williams) Star Wars: The Last Jedi (John Williams)

Well, it could be a mistake -- "Molly' Game" already had a score recorded not too long ago and that's not the composer. Daniel Pemberton is the composer.

Yeah, no one outside of this board (and its family tree of other boards) knows fucking anything about film music.

Yeah, no one outside of this board (and its family tree of other boards) knows fucking anything about film music. Also, there's no way Price would be nominated for Baby Driver, a film 99% dominated by songs, let alone be a major threat. And Wonder Woman? GTFO.

Surely, its a mistake Probably, but a strange thing happens when you Google "All the money in the world composer"

Nothing strange about it -- Google often uses Wikipedia as a source for that.

Nothing strange about it -- Google often uses Wikipedia as a source for that. I know, but Wikipedia doesn't mention John Williams and neither does any other website as far as I can tell, which is why I found it strange that it's what Google comes up with.

Frontrunner - Dunkirk That better be a fucking joke. Between the use of an Elgar motif and the separate cues credited to Wallfisch, I suspect Dunkirk won't be eligible (of course, I said something similar about The Hateful Eight...) Could it be that Harry Gregson-Williams is doing the Ridley, and they just got their Williams confused? Detroit as a frontrunner is certainly laughable -- not only is much of the brief score ambient, but a different composer gets credit for the ambient music.

Well, now we can look forward to the rejected Williams score. ;-)

Well, now we can look forward to the rejected Williams score. ;-) That's another reason Williams seemed an unlikely choice -- I can't see him signing on for a movie where his music might get f****d with. To repeat the old line attributed variously to William Goldman and Elmer Bernstein, he's "too old and too rich to give a f***."

This article also puts Baby Driver as a major contender, and will probably be inelegible too.
