Goldsmith also used the wind machine in his concert work Music For Orchestra, which had its world premiere in St. Louis in the early 70's with (then) associate conductor Leonard Slatkin. I was a Goldsmith fan at the time, very young, and didn't even know about the concert til I switched on KMOX on a Saturday afternoon and heard Goldsmith being interviewed. Eventually the piece got a recording and I was able to hear it.
