I've been away for a week, & wow, what a thread (if only new releases got this much interest). A good thread, no-one got nasty, & I like Lukas' relaxed attitude to it all. I was listening to Omega Man on the train on the way back, I think it's my most played FSM album, only it isn't FSM, it's a boot, which will soon be getting the boot.

Lucky the labels aren't run by the likes of Dennis. If they were, they'd sell the first 800 of a newly released 1000 edition at $20 each, the next 100 at $50 each and the last 100 at $100 each.

Why does Dennis The Hoarder think the labels don't do this? If they followed his thinking, it would be justified as being all to do with supply and demand.

To me is enough that two labels (Intrada and LaLaLand) have the same opinion as I have. The rest is philisophy

As Doug said
"So, to the point. It's good to make more copies of OMEGA MAN available but it's bad to break faith with loyal customers."
if you cannot understand this I cannot do anything.

It is amazing how easily people give lables to other people but it is sample of their maturity.
I have not sold anything on ebay from Intrada or FSM at any price. On the other hand I have paid premium prices for many many CDs without complaining. I am an adult and if I want to pay $200 for the Weather Man Oscar promo it is my choice.

Ha, Intrada lost my faith long ago with their silly calculated limited editions.

Hello! First time poster. I just wanted to thank FSM for this reissue! It's nice to finally have this in physical form, and it sounds great!

EDIT: I notice the organ(s) seems to be mixed a little louder than the other release; hardly unwelcome, but it takes some getting used to if you've listened to the 2000 release as often as I have. big grin

I'll never understand that argument (sorry, philisophy). A record company put out a CD that I want, & I buy it. I get the disc & they get my money, that's the end of my contract with the record company. They can do what they like after that.

The only thing calculated about those limited editions is Intrada's lack of desire to be stuck with too many unsold copies.

But if you must walk around with a perpetual storm raging over your head, you will never find sunshine.
