Waxworks have put out a CD. I've always loved the film and the score has a lot of stuff I like, but the synth does sound INCREDIBLY cheap and I didn't know if I wanted to spend money on it.
I looked at Waxworks Bandcamp site and saw there were only 6 copies of the CD left, and in a world where I'm constantly skipping releases then regretting it six months later when it's tripled in price, I decided to take the plunge.
Now listening to the digital download and turns out, I'm glad I spent the money.
Huh, what were Hooper's duties on scoring? He and Lambert shared credit on the film, and as much as a that '...Dog will hunt' for his name, I can't find it in the Waxworks listing... Appropriately and admirably crazed jacket art there, I must say.
I love that this thread kicks off with Thor's absolutely savage and disparaging review of this classic cult shocker. One of my favorite underrated Horror Comedies, I think it gets better with age and stands as a great reflection of Hooper's experiences in the 1980s and producers chasing after him to sequel-ize the impossible.
Yeah I love part 2. Oddly enough, I do prefer the shorter version that I originally saw on home video because it does not include the leatheface waltz scene, which I always found unnecessary.
