I love David Newman, but this is one release I'm not willing to support. And it's completely ignorant not to include a European license, no matter who is at fault for that.

So what if it's not licensed for Europe? Quite a lot, first we have to skirt around the license agreement to import from a seller willing to ignore the license agreement; which is probably illegal in the studio's eyes. I'm just thankful that the record industry didn't go into region locking CD's, otherwise then I would have been seriously pissed off. (Circumventable or not) Plus I wonder if there would be more outrage if say this years Delure album wasn't available to the North American & Canadian territories, or the Santa Claus The Movie album from a couple of years ago, because of a license preventing sales to those customers. Other outlets (Intrada, SAE, MovieMusic) are inevitably going to stock this CD, and they'll ship it out to European customers anyway. I hope that is true, however we don't know yet if they will stipulate to Intrada/SAE/whoever that for them to get stock that they can't sell to a European address or worse still, prevent European IP addresses from purchasing the music (like say Amazon).

I love David Newman, but this is one release I'm not willing to support. And it's completely ignorant not to include a European license, no matter who is at fault for that. It appears like there are always members of this forum who criticize anything I do; unfortunately, that cannot be helped. But I still think that I can make a lot of fans happier by my actions than if I didn't release this soundtrack. I, too, am a big fan of David Newman, so when I had an opportunity to release this score in expanded form to people outside of Europe (or not at all), I opted for the first. When I first saw in Variety that David had scored this picture, I immediately wanted to get out a CD. It was difficult to get this license to begin with, as the original license lay with a European record label and had to be broken up in order to grant me the rights in the specified countries. I also have to add that my original agreement with Constantin only granted me the rights to re-release the EU version of the soundtrack, something I wasn't interested in. Fortunately, I found open ears in the head of Constantin Music, who accepted my proposal to release the complete score without the songs that interrupted the musical flow on the original release. I am very happy with this album. I hope some of you will be, too. Robin Esterhammer

Please ignore the troll Mr. Esterhammer. It's clear that the individual in question has an agenda based on malice - I say this based on the way over the top super flame-out he had last spring on this board. You're doing just fine. Congrats on your new release!

Fantastic news. The original album sucks. It leaves off app. 50 minutes of important material. That score has truly symphonic proportions, very memorable themes and the recording has a fantastic concert hall ambience. Also the performance by the Berlin musicians is terriffic.
