Interesting collab, nice to see Moroder too. While I really like Tron, I'm not aware of their stuff outside of it.

I'm really digging this album. "Get Lucky" has become a huge hit, and I like it, but there are others I like even better. "Giorgio by Moroder" is one of my favourites.

I listened to a few tracks on Spotify and I thought it was rather repetitive and uninteresting.

"Touch" is so good.

It's not my favourite song on the album, but it's nice to hear the voice of Paul Williams in this context -- a man who is known for so many film songs, for Williams and Goldsmith, among others.

To me their least inventive album and I thought "Giorgio by Moroder" was a bit of a letdown, I don't get why they kept his interview as the intro, it gets annoying after one listen. Aside from "Get lucky" I like "Doing it Right" (which could have been a leftover of Discovery). As a tribute album to disco it's interesting, but as a Daft Punk album a bit of a letdown to me.

I disagree. I think it's great that they're trying something new and something a bit more commercial -- while at the same time keeping their idiosyncracies.

Commercial? yes. New? hardly. Of course I think it was a deliberate move on their part to capture and recreate some of that 70's feel which they have done. But I must have missed the part where 70s music became hot again, though I confess I'm not down with the scene anymore wink

Well, I meant new for Daft Punk. Disco is obviously not something new. Besides, I think it's more than just a tribute album to disco. It covers quite a lot of styles and moods.

Disco became 'hot' again a few years ago, especially with acts such as Scissor Sisters and Mika.

Well in that case I better look for my afro.

I am not overwhelmed by their new album, I like the Moroder speech though and followed by a scarface like melody but not typical Moroder sound. Some tracks has a "familiar" feel to it, like you have heard it somewhere else before.
