We need a thread like this. I'll start:

Went to see several famous DJs yesterday:

David Guetta, Avicii and Steve Angello.

Quite fun, but nothing I would do again. They really aren't musicians, rather technicians. There's not an instrument in sight on stage... :-D

Not lately. The last two concerts I was attending was at The Hollywood Bowl last year. Went to see John Williams and then the day after I saw the David Newman concert.

It's been a pretty meager year for concerts (it was far better in 2010, 2011 and 2012). I was supposed to be in Belgium with some buddies of mine this weekend, to see Rammstein at a rock festival in Brussels. Sadly, I couldn't make it.

The closest has been a couple of film music concerts here in Norway earlier this year.

I have a Horner and Elfman concert to look forward to in October, but nothing non-film music planned as of yet.

Generally too busy performing in them to attend them (I've just returned from my second today, for example)...last time I think I actually sat and watched a concert was with the excellent Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain last year. I'll get to another soon....was gutted to miss the CBSO the other night..

Now that a-ha aren't doing much anymore, I've got no excuse to drag my other half across Europe!!

Pretty lean for me as well so far this year, I went to a Classic Western Film Music concert a few months back, and thats been it. I don't have anything lined up either. However, I am going to see Lloyd Webber's 'EVITA' soon (not a concert, I know).

The Who last week for their Quadrophenia And More gig.

They've still got it. Roger was in good voice and Pete's guitar was loud and strong. Even John and Keith had great solo spots, thanks to some nice audio and video mixing.

Just came home from seeing artists like Morten Abel and The Hooters at a festival here in Kristiansand, Norway. Another fun night!

My DJ summer continues, lol. Tonight I saw AXWELL, formerly of Swedish House Mafia. The guy surely knows how to build up a party.

Yesterday I saw FAITHLESS (Live PA & DJ Set). Fun to finally see them, even if Rollo is long gone.

...this too.

All those people running on stage to dance are my co-workers from backstage who were all invited up by Nile for this last number.

About two months ago, my lady and I went with my sister to see Elton John. It was bittersweet, mom always loved EJ and we took her to a few concerts. She would have enjoyed it

The last one I went out to see was the Varese 35th Anniversary concert. Great fun.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming Kamelot concert with Delain opening in September. Going to be awesome.

Earlier this year I went to a concert with Firewind.

I go to concerts all the time but not film music ones. However, they did play Ennio Morricone's The Ecstasy of Gold on the loud speakers when Metallica was coming out. Does that count? razz

In April I went to the Metal Alliance Tour with Anthrax, Exodus, and Municipal Waste.

In June I went to Orion Music & More with Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Battlecross, Rise Against, Deftones, Dropkick Murphys, Gogol Bordello, Infectious Grooves, FLAG, Tomahawk, Vista Chino, DEATH, Fu Manchu, The Bronx and others.

In August I am seeing Black Sabbath, Dwarves, Meatmen, and Mudhoney. I am very likely going to see GWAR later this year and maybe Lamb of God, Testament, and Killswitch Engage.

Last year I seen GWAR (X2), Primus, Anthrax (X2), Testament, Death Angel, Slipknot, Slayer, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Six Feet Under, Danzig, Mobile Deathcamp (X2), and Megadeth.

Lucky! Did they say anything about the Dune score?

Well, this thread (and board) is about non-film music...
