Red alert! We have to let The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Vol. 3 (The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.) go out of print. There are less than 60 in stock as of June 17th. We pressed 4,000 but have run out of booklets, and when we went to reprint the booklet, found that the artwork has been lost due to a computer issue. Rather than reconstruct it…we’re going to bid it adieu. (If we reissue this title, it will be with a minimal booklet in a “2nd edition” form—but that would not happen until 2012 at the earliest, if at all.)
Our early 20th Century Fox CDs are technically out of print, in that we no longer press them (and haven’t for years)—we are simply selling off remaining inventory, and in some cases packaging the parts that were stashed in boxes. (We have dusty old boxes from ten years ago marked “booklets,” “trays” and/or “discs”—we send them to the plant to be packaged into jewel boxes and shrinkwrapped, but sometimes the contents are not what was labeled, which is how we get “warehouse finds.”)
The following two titles we have decided to sell at a “clearance” price of $4.95 each…partly as an experiment, hope we don’t lose too much money! They are selling fast and won’t be around much longer:
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Sawtell/Shefter): 125 $4.95
The Egyptian (Herrmann/Newman): 375 $4.95
These titles are at full price ($19.95), given the super-low stocks:
Morituri/Raid on Entebbe (Goldsmith/Shire): 100 $19.95
Demetrius and the Gladiators (Waxman): 100 $19.95
A Guide for the Married Man (Williams): 250 $19.95
And these titles we are going to price, for now, at $14.95. I would not wait around too long!
Prince of Foxes (Newman): 150 $14.95
The Flim-Flam Man/A Girl Named Sooner (Goldsmith)—we had this at a clearance price but pulled it back: 200 $14.95
The Bravados (Newman/Friedhofer): 200 $14.95
The Stripper/Nick Quarry (Goldsmith): 270 $14.95
Untamed (Waxman): 270 $14.95
100 Rifles (Goldsmith): 295 $14.95
The View From Pompey’s Head/Blue Denim (Bernstein/Herrmann): 300 $14.95
Ace Eli and Rodger of the Skies/Room 222 (Goldsmith): 325 $14.95
Conquest/Battle for the Planet of the Apes (Scott/Rosenman): 357 $14.95
Between Heaven and Hell/Soldier of Fortune (Friedhofer): 400 $14.95
Also low in stock from the early years—when they’re gone, they’re gone! (I always love the panicked emails from collectors asking, after the fact, if we can find a copy because they “missed it.” You had the last 12 years to buy it!)
The Green Berets (Rozsa): 75 still at $19.95
Reduced price:
The World of Henry Orient (Bernstein): 266 $14.95
I Spy (Vol. 1)(Hagen): 350 $14.95
On the Beach/The Secret of Santa Vittoria (Gold): 379 $14.95
News of upcoming CDs: There is one magnificent title we have for July that has been in the works for several years. It is one of the single most beautiful scores ever written. It has taken a long, long time to produce…because we can only work on it at “Golden Hour.”
