The latest release from Intrada is the first-ever release of the very first theatrical film score composed by James Horner - THE LADY IN RED, a lively B-movie gangster drama inspired by the life of Polly Hamilton, the woman who was with John Dillinger when he was killed by law enforcement. Pamela Sue Martin plays Polly, Robert Conrad plays Dillinger, and the film was written by two-time Oscar nominee John Sayles and directed by Lewis Teague (Cujo, Alligator).
The latest releases form Music Box are an expanded version of Georges Delerue's score for Philippe DeBroca's comedy-drama KING OF HEARTS, which was a staple of American repertory and arthouse theaters in the 1970s; and the first CD release of the score for the 2018 French period crime drama THE EMPEROR OF PARIS, composed by two-time Oscar nominee Marco Beltrami and his frequent collaborator Marcus Trumpp.

"'Knox Goes Away' isn’t the first (or fifth) genre effort to play with memory, although it might be the flattest. A far cry from the formally inventive Memento or the twisty-turny Total Recall, Keaton’s film is dramatically inert, its energy undercut by pedestrian visual framing, mundane staging and a wispy Alex Heffes score (mostly notable for its periodic mournful horns) that leaves great stretches of the action weighed down by dead air. Gregory Poirier’s script is neither original in concept nor exciting in execution, with Knox’s monotone quips landing with a thud and the 'timely' jokes of the detectives on his trail -- regarding modern slang like 'IRL' -- inspiring eyerolls. Title cards indicate what week it is in Knox’s path-to-deterioration, and recurring fades to black echo the hitman’s description of his ailment as akin to having a curtain go down on his psyche. Yet from start to finish, the material is crushingly lethargic."

But Abdalla and Sherry do strike a winning chemistry, and the actress offers some subtle indicators that Brooke’s ironic detachment masks a more private sadness. 'Snack Shack' largely operates as a slack series of shenanigans, but the budding teen romance offers a spine, as well as an opportunity to get dramatic once Brooke draws the attention of Moose, predictably putting the boys' friendship in jeopardy."
