Hollywood Records is 50/50 these days if you're gonna get a CD (I know, get with the times).
I think it might even be down to the composer pushing for a disc release?
Alan Silvestri obviously likes them, but Chris Beck and Ludwig Goransson couldn't give a stuff.
Kev, I think that in 2020 they are gonna put the final nail in the coffin of the CD. And I feel very sad about that. I haven't even figured out this downloading yet. I e-mailed Back Lot Music to ask if there was going to be a CD for Dolittle by Elfman and they replied that they had no intention of doing so. So there's that.

There is one:
"Blade Trinity" (Ramin Djawadi replaced a score by Terence Blanchard)
If I recall correctly there was only one replacement in their 22 number of films, and that was that Tyler got replaced by Elfman on the second Avengers.
There are more, not limited to Zimmer clones and not limited to if anything was recorded.
"X-Men" (Klause Badelt did some replacement cues, on top of adding to existing Kamen material)
"Punisher: WAr Zone" (Michael Wandmacher replaced a score by Christopher Franke)
"Ghost Rider" (Christopher Young replaced David Arnold, who was attached to the film)
"Thor" (Eshkeri was saying he would score the film, a couple years before it was released)
"Thor 2: Dark World" (Brian Tyler replaced a score by Carter Burwell)
"Fantastic Four" (Beltrami replaced Philip Glass, who was originally announced solely as the composer)
"Logan" (Marco Beltrami replaced Cliff Martinez, who was originally announced)

Didn't they eventually put out a CD for his GRINCH score, some 6 months later (was that the same label?).
Elfman usually bags a CD release. Hopefully Europe (or one of our score labels) might remedy the situation?
Indeed they did so we'll see. But even Sony Classical seems to go the download only way.

With The exception of Thor 2, these aren’t Marvel *studio* films. And as you say yourself, the first Thor never had a score replaced.

And do you know for a fact Eshkeri didn't do a score?

Why would Eshkeri have done a score when Branagh always has Doyle? Wanting to and doing are two different things.

Eshkeri said he was going to score it in an interview; why would he say hypotheticals?
So far you've not provided factual evidence he did no score, so your opinion there was not a rejected score, lacks any foundation. If somebody wants to come along and point to where he said he didn't do one or a director or producer said he didn't do one, great -- I love solving unsolved mysteries, but opinion doesn't equal fact.
