Dear Jose, I love you! I love your label! And I'm beside myself with joy that you have recorded THE BRIDE WORE BLACK. Please don't be discouraged. I agree with Chris that it's a great pity you have felt the need to justify yourself. There is no need to justify yourself. You are a gift to us film score fans. Thank you.

Jose, this work is a wonderful surprise and I can't wait to hear it. It's amazing what has to go into a project like this, and many of us are greatly appreciative of your efforts!!

I'll just add my bit: Thank you Jose and Quartet. I've been a longtime BH admirer and Bride Wore Black admirer, and you provided my best musical experience this year. I am forever in your debt.

Jose, could you upload the clips of the recording sessions and possibly other promotional material you have? That would be so neat.

Bill, Thanks for your kind and classy words, but you don't have to apologize. I know there was no bad intent involved. Some people have simply taken advantage of your words to create a confrontation that did not exist. It's just the unpleasant social media world we live in. And thank you very much to everyone here for the warm support. It’s greatly appreciated. Since the text was too long, I want to repeat here two things that I think are important: – I had not read any offensive post on this board about this album, but on other sites of which I am not a member (so I could not respond there) and on our own Facebook page. I thought that this forum was the best place to clarifying some things. – It has absolutely not been my intent to justify the contents of this album. I just wanted to explain why, how and when we made it. As I said, anyone can express their honest opinion once they have heard it. I will never refute a personal opinion about an artistic work (even though I might not agree with it) as long as it's not something offensive. After all, to live is to learn. Season’s greetings to everyone! Jose

Hi Jose, I want to add my gratitude and excitement for the releases of Bride and Big Country, and for the future release of Endless Night. Can’t wait! I want these to be a success and open up the doors to even more jewels in the future. It is with this in mind that I hope you don’t mind the following suggestion. If Endless Night is a short score, how about as an added bonus (I don’t think there’s a lot to be recorded – the song and a few snippets of score), perhaps including the music Herrmann was able to write for Portrait Of Jennie. Given the haunting atmosphere of both these films, it feels like a natural partnership. Apologies if I’m being greedy, I mention it only because Herrmann’s connection with Portrait Of Jennie often comes up here - so there’s lots of interest, and it could be a chance of maximising sales potential with possibly minimum extra cost (easy for me to say I know as I don’t really know what would be involved or how much Herrmann actually wrote). All the very best, merely a suggestion from a well-wisher, please feel free to ignore! Muchos gracias, Steve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96gaQ52kiVY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUcsckWYOK4

Steve P, that is a most excellent suggestion for pairing Endless Night with (the little bit of music Herrmann wrote for) a more familiar title. Yavar

Just read Jose's long post above. Who are these morons on the Herrmann board and Facebook? Seriously, who are they - names, or do they post anonymously? They should be ashamed of themselves. And the ignorance is breathtaking, in terms of not knowing what instruments this score required. Jose is a mench, Bill is and always has been a mench, and these idiots should be flogged by raw bacon. Yes, it's a shame that Bill was thinking about doing this, and yes the Intrada timing that caused the press release not to go out is unfortunate, but now we know the why of it. I have no doubt that this will be a really excellent CD and I'm looking forward to getting mine. And let me tell you something, Facebook and Herrmann board twits: Quartet got the financing for this all by themselves - that feat should be commended, applauded, and, in this day and age and in this market, it's amazing that they could do it. Believe me, EVERY label has been thinking about doing original recordings. I spoke to Bill and John Morgan about one two years ago, one I'd still love to do, but it's such a crazy project and it would simply cost too much to ever justify the cost. I was ready to do an Indiegogo for it, but what I thought would be the cost almost tripled and I knew that was just silly. But Jose got it done. And if anyone, ANYONE, counts him/herself a film music fan and a Herrmann fan, they should support this release because if they don't, there's no way in hell it will ever break even and breaking even is the only way there will be more. I want names!

Well, I've just visited that Herrmann Facebook group and had a bit of fun Especially with the main troublemaker, Mr. Louis Goldberg. I mean seriously he can't tell the difference between a trumpet and a french horn. And we should take him seriously?
