Do you hear me Varese? Thank you.

I always loved this score too, by chance, how much more music is there? It's been forever since I've seen the film.

As far as I remember there isn`t very much additional music, probably 10 minutes or so. But I remember those additional cues being absolutely wonderful. And it could definetely use a sound improvement to make it sound a bit crisper since the original CD sounded a bit muffled.

It`s definetely one of my favorite David Newman scores and IMHO it would wonderful either as part of the Club or the We Hear You series.

I also always liked the movie although the critics hated it. The story is a bit predictable and borrows quite heavily from It's a Wonderful Life but it`s a very warm film and has some terriffic performances by Michael Caine, James Belushi and Linda Hamilton.

So when is the NEXT release? This thread is more than tiresome.

By the way, is there any update concerning this series? It was introduced as a semi-monthly series which means that there should be a release every two weeks. I guess the term bimonthly should have been used instead but nevertheless, it has been more than three months since the first title has been released.

Curse of the Swamp Creature. Ronald Stein

Given that it was a no-budget Larry Buchanan movie, I would think the music was tracked in from Stein's library, now co-owned by Sony and BMG.

"The Odd Couple"! Finally! The LP was half dialogue from the film (with a laugh track added!), and featured a truly terrible vocal version of the great main theme (never heard in the movie) with ridiculously awful lyrics. ("No matter where they go, they are know as the couple! They're never seen alone, so are known as the couple!") I'm guessing (based on nothing) that this release will be the LP cues, though maybe without the dialogue tracks?

I'm very pleased with this one - I have loved Barefoot in the Park especially since I saw it with my mom on TV probably on first airing, and then played Paul Bratter in the show in high school. I can instantly recall the theme even now. (As well as dialogue!) Odd Couple too of course, but I got a bit weary with the theme from the years with the TV sitcom. Still, I adore the OST versions.

It's going to be hard to wait for this, but on the other hand, "Six days does not a week make!"

It's not very often that I have said thank you to Varese Sarabande. For this long time waited for release on CD, Varese Sarabande has my gratitude. Thank you.

A Neal Hefti two-fer. And two Dot LPs taken off the want list. Bravo, Varese!

I notice that both LPs say that the music is "from the score." Does that mean that these were re-recordings?

Have they ever released an altered version of the LP album in this series? I remember FSM's release of KUNG FU...same as the LP with dialog. I guess it's better than nothing if you dont already have a homemade LP rip.

Straight LP-only re-releases? I will buy this but it's very disappointing!

I don't think we know anything about the content of this release.

It'll be interesting to see what Varese comes up with. The original tracks may be missing since they fall into the lost Paramount scores of 1964-1974 (IIRC, something that Lukas Kendall has talked about); and the LP re-recording tapes may have been destroyed in the UMG vault fire. They may end up using needle-drops. I'll be extremely happy if my theories are proved incorrect.

And you know what Oscar would do then..."now the LP's garbage."
