Important: If you received a Stephen King Box Set and your outer package was smashed or indented beyond what you would let slide, please email varesesarabande@naxosusa.com with a photo or two so they can see it please. Varese is working at replacing the outer boxes that everything is housed in for those that had a damaged case. Naxos should not have shipped this in anything other than a box pure and simple. If you received a Stephen King Box Set and you had CD's scuffed or scratched beyond what you would let slide please email varesesarabande@naxosusa.com. It would be helped to know what discs were scuffed or not even in their pockets. None of the upper discs should be out of their pockets when you opened the box set since the package was sealed and there wasn't enough room for them to move out of their pockets. We'll get this straightened out and apologies for any and all issues of course.

Thank you to the constructive criticism that’s been posted which helps a lot. Few know this but my spouse but you would be surprised at how much I’ve gone to bat for you all. I come from your world and I know what we want and like. Sometimes I win, sometimes I don’t. But I try none the less. I may be beaten down and ridiculed on posts, but I won’t stop trying. Please email Naxos in the earlier post please in regards to issues.

You're being a jerk. That's also just an observation.

I hope it isn't you who's continually pushing for this "high concept" packaging - because that is where the product is being let down. If you knew the fans you'd know that 90% want standard packaging. I only suggest this because the crappy ideas only started after you started at the company. Just an observation.. DMD is being up front and sincere yet you continue acting like a jackass towards him! Give it a rest already

Are we sure that the packaging is the culprit here for the damaged CDs? From the promo video that I saw on the boxset, the CDs looked secure. Yes, it's the packaging first and foremost, but the issues are exacerbated by shipping. If the package had been handed to the customer directly off of the production line, at some point, the discs had to be slid into cardboard pockets to complete the package and then slid out of those pockets to play the disc. So, even with the most careful handling, the nature of this type of packaging submits discs to a potentially abrasive encounter with the packaging at least twice. And, while efforts were made to secure the discs (adding the thin foam sheets between the 'pages' my set arrived with two discs completely free of their pockets and a third just about to break free. And, to be clear, I appreciate the information provided here and that this issue is being addressed by Varese. I do feel it is important, though, that the issue be discussed and shared openly and constructively, with a eye toward letting manufacturers know that these kinds of packaging/shipping decisions are less than ideal for some customers.

I hate to say it, but this packaging is, indeed, a disaster. The foam inserts had no effect on the discs' vertical movement, and they were all over the place. I liked what this set looked like aesthetically, but from a practical perspective, it didn't really work out so well. Luckily, all of my discs seem to play fine thus far… but that's only luck.

I have received the box here in Germany from a German dealer (Chris' Soundtrack Corner) today and it was in PERFECT condition. No CD was scratched or loose. The packaging was fine without any damage. So: no problem at all.

I think, in future (and if companies are going to continue with silly/gimmicky packaging), if a CD is being placed against a scratchy surface (i.e. cardboard, wire-mesh, nails, broken glass), they should be shrink-wrapped first, in a bubble-wrap environment.

In the future we will all fondly remember the days when there were still new cd's to enjoy all the time.
