Random question: On the back of the old VHS box, it states "Some Music Rescored".
Does anyone know to which cues that is referring?
I can't pull the cd & reference Matessino notes at the moment, but wasn't there some popular song of the day coming from a car radio or at the beach for one scene? Supertramp or some other 70's band? It was most likely that, or other beach party source music. Highly doubtful it means there is an alternate Williams' score cue on the VHS. MCA used to do this from time to time....Carpenter's THE THING had a similar disclaimer, which was for the Stevie Wonder song, since restored. In that case, I now miss the stock-Universal-library-cue, since it's what I grew up hearing!

(Mike, correct me if I'm wrong) I believe Sean is correct – they futzed with some diagetic music cues on this home video release, and I posted a rather OCD thread about those here:
I was pretty steamed about this alteration the first time I played my VHS, growing up in England, and back in the day I wrote to MCA Home Video demanding an explanation. To their credit, they called me to explain it was a rights issue. Fortunately, subsequent DVD and Blu-ray releases restored the original music cues to the sound mix.
We restored #'s 3, 4 and 6 for the live concerts (without the piano intro on #3).
#7 - "From Bad to Worse" was replaced with "Quint Thinks It Over" -- which was a track title made up in 2000... the cue is actually "From Bad to Worse (Rev.)". It's not a cue that goes in a different place.
The link for #5 above was incorrect for me. It took me to #4.
"(The Jaws 2CD set is currently sold out but will likely be re-issued at some point with a slightly different program)"
I hope that means without the source music (not by Williams) and not the extra Williams stuff and the MCA re-recording! Otherwise I'll have to seek a used copy one day.

I am in the same boat. Kept putting it off, because for some reason I thought they owned this release perpetually.
From what it sounds like, your speculation is correct; the regular recording(54 min?) and the MCA recording will be included.
I just hope they actually are able to do it. The wording that they used in the notification leaved some room for doubt with pessimists like me, haha.
How can two notes make people so fearful of going into the ocean? That’s what John Williams did with his iconic score for the 1975 blockbuster Jaws. Host Jeff Commings is joined by Jeff Owens to break down the elements in the main title music that make this two-note theme a masterclass of composition. They also get chills when discussing other excellent musical moments in the film, such as the first attack on the shark and the shark’s attack on the cage. Rent a yellow raft and dive into this score that encompassed everything that made John Williams a good composer in his 40 previous films and will make him a superstar in the 45 years that follow.
I see on Intrada website it states that this edition of JAWS is "sold out" and "will likely be re-issued at some point with a slightly different program".
Can someone please explain this to me? I thought MAFs were eternal!

Nothing is eternal, except eternity.
I think that Douglass Fake told he couldn't make more than 5.000 copies because of some changes in the AFM rules.
